Patches was simply reading the polls.
I think it’s more a matter of the people of his RI district, realizing Patches—without his Dad backing him up—was worthless for bringing home the bacon. He was happy as a clam living it up on Capitol Hill. He knows he’ll never have it this good anywhere else.
Howeverm here's what's coming:
Social Security:
Those under 55 willhave to work until 70
A large portion of their funds will be invested in Treasuries
Private Pensions will have to be attached in some way
The Federal Budget will have to be cut/slashed
Whole departments are going to have to go
If you can promise me that the Republicans we all know and love can suddenly grow the cojones to lead during the coming very tough times, I'll be happy to put on my happy face, and my game face, too. No way out except to open the Hurt Locker.
General Petraeus in 2012! A militry man is needed who can talk very tough without turning off the wimps vote needed to elect him.
I’m hoping this movement spreads north to VT.
It's not just anti-incumbent, it's anti-progressive, big government loving politicians...republicans who fit that mold better not rest too deeply.
It's an anti-fool attitude.
However, here's what's coming:
Social Security:
Those under 55 will have to work until 70
A large portion of their funds will be invested in Treasuries and privately. Got to happen.
Private Pensions will have to be attached in some way, probably confiscation and investment in Treasuries. That's on the table right now.
The Federal Budget will have to be cut/slashed
Whole departments are going to have to go
Taxesd are going to have to be scaled back, which is the only "stimulus" that makes sense."
Yhere has to be a moratorium )at least) on all immigration.
If the Republicans we all know and love can suddenly grow the cojones to lead during the coming very tough times, I'll be happy to put on my happy face, and my game face, too. No way out except to open the Hurt Locker.
General Petraeus in 2012! A military man is needed who can talk very tough, dish out the horrid medicine, and get the country behind him, without turning off the wimp vote needed to elect him. If we can get a good Congress, and then a ood President, we can be out of this in 5 years.
If we cannot, i.e. RINOs just seek to do business as usual, or the Right splits and we put in another Democrat, stock up on ammo, and get to Idaho or western Maine.
The collective hysteria that got the Kenyan Pretender 53% of the vote is nothing short of a national mental disease.
Maybe.
A large portion of their funds will be invested in Treasuries
No one has a property claim to SS funds. SS surplus has been supporting US debt for years. Treasuries may actually have more value when (R)'s put a stop to Obama's mischief. They can begin by taking Congress and defunding Obama's budgets and the debt that goes with it. (R)'s have a recent history of producing budget surpluses. Nothing says they can't do it again.
Private Pensions will have to be attached in some way
Maybe by the (D)'s (and they'd be hung first). Not by (R)'s if their budgets produce surpluses.
The Federal Budget will have to be cut/slashed
Of course it will. But isn't that the goal? Let the (R)'s bring it on and get the credit for doing so!
Whole departments are going to have to go
And you're mourning this likelihood? Why wouldn't you want the (R)'s to have the credit for solving these problems?
If you can promise me that the Republicans we all know and love can suddenly grow the cojones to lead during the coming very tough times,...
Let the (R)'s run on their promises You just make sure you get out there and vote for them and not any third parties.
I'll be happy to put on my happy face, and my game face, too. No way out except to open the Hurt Locker.
There you go again. Are you into pain or somehing? Conservatives ought to know better than to rely on the dour forcasts generated by static economic models. Freezing and reversing Federal spending, shaving off funding and downsizing government is the platform for (R) success and the people will be behind it.
General Petraeus in 2012! A militry man is needed who can talk very tough without turning off the wimps vote needed to elect him.
I like Petraeus. Promise me he won't be an Eisenhower.
FReegards!
“...a military man is needed who can talk very tough...”
...and enforce the law; equally, across the board, starting with some of those big, stinky fish in congress, all the way down to us chickens.
IMHO
Yes, I have contracted a deadly mental infirmity, or deformity, which you have correctly disgnosed.
That is, I have absolutely been so unnerved by the accession of the ineligible usurper, Obama I, to what is becoming his Throne, that I no longer trust that half of the citizenry (or facsimile) that actually votes, to figure out the Right Thing to do.
Less is my confidence in the when (R)'s put a stop to Obama's mischief... as the political landscape is littered with many RINOs whose idea of a campaign mantra is
(R)'s have a recent history of producing budget surpluses. Nothing says they can't do it again.
Last time we had the House, Senate, and WH, we did the opposite. The Official Republican Party, as represented by one Michael Steele and the RNC, must undergo a Radical Reformation before our wish list can come true. So far, no Luther, or Calvin is identifiable ... at least to me.
But Dr. Aga-Freud, you have done me one HUGE favor. I have mentally re-grouped. Things are coming to a rather nasty head before the November elections. That is, I smell many many drastic "Executive Orders" coming our way. The Kenyan Teleprompter Man is going to try ruling by fiat, and I don't mean that car Chrysler is going to try and sell. By QUO WARRANTO is this man issuing anything?
Even without an effective opposition party, citizens' resistance is the order of the day. Insurgency!
