I love that song , but I’m wondering how she handled the line:

“Remember when I moved in you”

just axin’

Probably just fine, with K.D. Lang being a lesbian...

Lyrics I found online:

Hallelujah – Leonard Cohen

I’ve heard there was a secret chord
that David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, Do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor Fall, The major lift,
The baffled king composing, hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you to a kitchen chair, she broke your throne
she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the halleujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe I’ve been here before
I know this room, I’ve walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I’ve seen your flag on the marble arch
love is not a victory march
it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What’s real and going on below
but now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there’s a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It’s not a cry you can hear at night
It’s not somebody who’s seen the light
it’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

...Don’t understand why some lesbians choose to look like men. It is a pretend thing that seems kinda psychologically sick, and it amazes me that they get so many to go along with the ickiness. Ie Ellen Degenerous. Ya love her, but it is weird to see that she pretends with her wardrobe that she is a man. Why?

I think it’s a gender identity thing (that not always but seems often goes along with the lesbian sexual orientation thing).

Regarding the gender identity thing - Believe it or not, some women want to be men (and some men want to be women).

But not everyone wants to go all the way with it - sometimes just dressing and acting like men (or women) is enough for some people who feel this way.

That’s why you see this.

Vivian Girls was the only one I liked...... That cut is sort of Velvet Underground. So then I went to a live video by them on youtube. The tattoos on those gals!

Maybe it’s generational but ...

Regarding gender identity, I think some women or men want the social role they see the other gender play in the world, which is different from actually wanting to BE the other gender. Women might perceive men as having more power and authority, men might perceive women as being more nurturing and emotional. If those are traits they value they might turn it around in their minds and think the best way to embody traits that are traditionally stronger in the other gender is to dress and act like the other gender.

Yeah that album is -to me at least- one of the most powerful recordings I’ve ever heard. I certainly like Spoon (especially that supercatchy, fun Underdog song) and My Morning Jacket good stuff all around!
