They just announced that he has died. Can you believe that.. my goodness. I can’t remember the last time someone died at the Olympics as a result of their sport.
Not good.
Damn. They may want to reconsider even running this event.
Condolences to the family and team members.
Looks like more rain is headed towards Vancouver’s parade, in more ways than one.

Sad, but after I read the initial report, that is what I feared.
I do know there have been skiers killed during practice runs before the Games. Can’t exactly recall when.
That is really sad....
From the sound of it, he was killed instantly. Damn shame.
Sumi? Quatchi? Miga? Fire up the grill...we got a tailgate party in the making.
I read a report that they’re having a huge briefing/meeting as we speak. All competitive teams have been asked to send a representative. They’re certainly going to have to modify that track, if they don’t cancel altogether. How horrifying.

Not a good start to say the least. I always thought luge was the most dangerous of all the sports, at least a bobsled offers some protection. That being said, it was always one of my favorite events to watch.
The story said he wasn’t the first one to crash on that track. Sounds like there might be a design flaw.
I believe the Opening Ceremonies start at 9pm Eastern...and delayed 3 hours by NBC.
If you live near the Canadian border, you can probably catch it live on CBC.
I always enjoy the Olympics.
