Under the Plan B, the House would pass the version of the health care reform the Senate passed on Christmas Eve.

If they had the votes to do this, the would have by now. No public option sinks it with the lefty reps and the abortion language sinks it with the pro-life dem reps.

The dems will have to hold a gun to their own members' heads before they turn it on the pubbies.

They can only hold it over republican’s heads IF republicans allow them to do it by taking their threats seriously. Tell the democrats to piss off until they are ready to start again from scratch.

If they do...

1) Dems are toast

2) We undo it.

This sounds like nonsense to me.

They might be able to pass some stuff through reconciliation. But key parts of the RAT plan could not go through reconciliation ... and they cant get 60 votes for those.

So they cant pass the universal mandate or the ban on pre-existing conditions exclusions. Which means if they had any brains, they’d admit defeat.

I suspect this is all posturing to mollify the far leftoid faction of the RAT base.

How do we undo it? I don’t see any situation where once it becomes law, it can be repealed. Obama’s still President with a veto threat and you need two-thirds vote of Congress to overide, right? If Obama is voted out in 2012 and we have majorities in the house and senate there’s a slim chance we can repeal it, but by that time it will have started taxing everyone and the system will be mostly set up.

It’s much safer to never let it become law.

I want plan “D” for “dead” (the “health care” bill).

Exactly!

And if they try to pull some 'brilliant plan' they are going to catch H E L L!

I don't think we are in the mood for trickery and smart*sses!

I encourage everyone to call their Congressional reps on this. I did and told them all that there will be electoral consequences for anyone who tries this.Using reconciliation for this bad bill frustrates the legislative process laid out in our Constitution.
