I just paid a $250 speeding fine through a "construction area" through a new speed trap, and no workers were present.

There is a need for those County Commissioners, assorted bureaucrats, and cops to increase their revenues because property taxes, etc., are down LOL.

But when it comes to mostly dingbats with a cell phone in one ear and a steering wheel in another, am all for adding them to the contributors of "public" funding.

So, the cops see you talking on the phone, he follows you for a ways and types your car license into his mobile data terminal for a records and NCIC check. He then calls his dispatch by radio to report the stop before pulling you over......

More revenue generation from the "little people"

Of course that is the way some people feel about speeders

“Women Hit Hardest!!!!

LOL!”

For sure...the texting part will soon make driving a male-only activity (again). Thankfully, guys aren’t STUPID enough to think that they can text and drive...only women (at least based on EVERY time I’ve seen someone texting).

Come to think of it, isn’t that part of the law bigoted, because it will only affect women?

I wish you could go through my speed trap at 50MPH on an interstate highway.

You would get the message real quick.

I had no idea, that when they passed the original law that they would eventually turn it into a “primary” offense.

/s

What did surprise me was that it took only a year or so to do it. It’s sad that now we expect this sort of disingenuous behavior from our state senates now and don’t even think twice about it.

Not only do a lot of people use the earpieces, but you can get those things that clip to your visor for hands free now, complete with noise canceling technology. I have the former and will be picking up the latter.

I solved that problem by moving across the street from where I work. It’s 5.5 minutes from my front door to my desk.

There was a story a couple months ago here about a guy that was in his parked car in a parking stall at Starbucks that called ahead for his next appointment. A cop walked up to his car and wrote him a ticket because his car was running, although it was in park, and still in the parking stall.

To be honest, his car may not even have been running.

I have mixed emotions. As a former bicycle commuter I do like to look at it this way: Thanks to cell phones, it is always 2:15 Saturday morning on the roads.
