"If you want to say this violates the basis on which this administration came into office and campaigned, fair enough," Crowley told Fox News. The issue is not that it violated an Obama campaign pledge, the issue is that they got caught and it resonated.

Exactly! This administration is full of hypocritical policies yet they don’t think it counts unless they get caught.

Oh, darn it. I was already using “Cheech and Chong” (my interpretation of the company’s name) to taunt liberals everytime they (continue to) say something negative about President Bush or VP Cheney (Halliburton, ya know).
Actually - this is good news. The Revolution rides on!

Do any CA FReepers know if there is a relation ship between Vincent V. Checchi and Alfred A. Checchi?

Well having criticized the Republicans for all the no-bid contracts Haliburton and other companies got it’s nice to see the shoe on the other foot.
To: tobyhill
Anyone know if Vincent Checchi is related to Al Checchi? Just curious :)

Got to hurt losing a 25 million dollar contract. Got to hurt more trying to figure out where the campaign dollars are going to come from now that - that source has dried up.

I don’t believe the Halliburton contracts were no-bid.

As I recall KBR, while still part of Halliburton, lost the LOGCAP contract to Dyncorp in 1997 when it went up for bid. The contract was re-bid in 2001 and KBR won it back.

That was all pre-invasion. Following the 2002 invasion Haliburton got billions in no-bid contracts, as did other companies.
To: Non-Sequitur
But Haliburton is the only one you hear about. Perhaps the ties between Sen. DiFi and Perini Corp. and Fluor Corp are the reason no one explores their contracts.
