Sunday Herald column ping
Moonbat leads with 2 left feet
Damn Yankee another feather in Martha Coakleys cap
By Howie Carr | Sunday, January 17, 2010 | http://www.bostonherald.com | Columnists
Please, can somebody buy Martha Coakley a clue?
Everyone knows she is and always has been a blithering moonbat, obsessed with Political Correctness and not much else. But the rule is, you dont let the whole world - or at least the peasants - in on your little secret, at least until after youve been safely elected.
Apparently Martha didnt get the memo. This week shes had at least three Do you know who I am? moments, starting with her snide dismissal of Scott Brown for campaigning outside Fenway Park [map] before the recent Bruins [team stats] game.
Asked whether she should have deigned to campaign for the office she seems to believe she inherited, she snapped: As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?
Hey Martha, even Ted Kennedy worked factory gates. It was a good place to meet broads.
Then on Thursday she went on a radio talk show in New Bedford and let slip exactly what she thinks of Catholics.
You can have religious freedom, but you probably shouldnt work in the emergency room.
Imagine a Republican saying members of some other religion - Muslims, for instance - should be excluded from, say, boarding a commercial airliner with a one-way ticket, no luggage, and no overcoat for a flight to Detroit.
Martha would be all over the Republican like white on rice. But its not hate speech if youre ripping Roman Catholics, at least not if youre a liberal Democrat. Quite an irony, a Democrat nominee in Massachusetts, with an Irish surname no less, suddenly coming on like a member of the old Catholic-hating Know-Nothing Party.
And now comes her appearance on another radio talk show Friday night. Maybe its unfair to call Martha a Know-Nothing, but after her appearance on WBZ you can say without fear of contradiction that she knows . . . nothing.
She mentioned Rudy Giulianis appearance earlier in the day for Scott Brown and then added that hes a Yankee fan.
Not Yankees but Yankee. She wanted to establish her everyman cred, like John Kerry blabbing on in 2004 about Manny Ortiz.
Yeah, says host Dan Rea, but now Scott Brown has Curt Schilling [stats], OK?
Another Yankee fan.
Schilling? Dan Rea cant believe even a Democrat could be this stupid.
Yes, she says.
Curt Schilling? Rea repeats incredulously. A Yankees fan?
No? she says. Someone who is privy to reality, as she might put it, must have been giving her the choke sign. All right, Im wrong.
Curt Schilling? Rea continues, still astonished. The great Red Sox [team stats] pitcher of the bloody sock?
Well, Martha sniffs, hes not there anymore.
With any luck, she wont be there anymore after Tuesday. She really is Mike Dukakis in a skirt. She won the Democratic primary and thought the race was over, just like Dukakis after he dispatched Al Gore in 1988. Why do you think she was in D.C. Tuesday night with her thug entourage, picking up cash from the lobbyists for her moonbat cheerleaders at MSNBC? She was taking a victory lap.
Her sycophants told her she had it in the bag. But nobody told Scott Brown. This is a guy who knows what its like to take on the machine. The first time he was elected to the state Senate, the hacks scheduled the special election on the same day as the 2004 presidential primary. Kerry was on the ballot and there was no Republican race - in other words the deck was totally stacked against Brown.
But he won.
Lets just hope on Tuesday he can give Martha a one-way ticket to Palookaville.

I hope he is on!
HC list fans: there will be a special list on election day itself. You will be pinged and ALL FReepers will be welcomed to join in. I may start it around midnight or so on Monday going into Tue. Be there!

She won the primary on name recognition and gender solidarity.
Prior to this race Scott Brown did not have that kind of name recognition, but the gender identity voters are only a small fraction of the total electorate and they wouldn't vote for a Republican woman, regardless.
Please add me to your Howie ping list. Thanks!
I pray that Howie is on the air on Monday. We need him like never before!
OK, added!
Election day ping coming Monday night at midnight
For easy access to the Howie Carr Facebook fan page,
go to http://www.howiecarr.info for link or look on
Howie’s Today’s Show page on WRKO / howiecarr.com
Since there was no descent of the Holy Ted and Martha cannot speak in toungs, Schilling a Yankee fan, no one can speak that language, she is of the beast to be Cast out.
Happy Birthday Howie!

And he was right about a snowstorm falling right around his birthday every year
Thanks for the info, Raccoon!
Monday show ping. Avi Nelson is on noon-3 today on WRKO
pre-empting Rush to do talk about the election (Avi also
now has a reg. gig Sat 2-4 pm on RKO, I hear)
1st Hour
President Obama swooped down on Massachusetts yesterday to take on an obscure state senator threatening his entire White House agenda, in a dramatic 11th hour dash to rescue Democrat Martha Coakley as she battles surging Republican Scott Brown in the race for U.S. Senate. Should Massachusetts take direction from Washington as to who we should elect?
2nd Hour
Former presidential candidate as well as chairman, CEO, and editor in chief at Forbes Media Steve Forbes will be with us to talk about his book How Capitalism Will Save Us: Why Free People and Free Markets Are the Best Answer in Today’s Economy as well as discuss the current state of the economy and the Massachusetts Senate Race.
3rd Hour
Call in for THE CHUMPLINE!!!! 617-779-3469 and leave a message for Howie or Sandy about today’s stories or whatever else is bothering you!
Max Robins TV Guru and Vice President of The Paley Center (formerly The Museum of Television and Radio) will be with us to answer all of those nagging questions about your favorite show on the boob tube...
4th Hour
If you DO want Rush:
610 Manchester NH
580 Worcester
920 Prov RI
All of those stations are owned by Clear Channel whose Premiere Radio division syndicates Rush. In April Clear
Channel’s AM 1200 here in town will go to talk with Beck
and Hannity—and perhaps Rush. While WRKO allegedly has
Rush under contract till 2012, Clr Chnl could poss. do an
opt-out clause, perhaps paying WRKO a settlement, if they
want to switch Rush to 1200 early.
I would think Avi would also be on same hours tomorrow and Wed. and no doubt RKO will have extended Howie tomorrow (or
tonight?)
This is really when Howie shines as bright as the sun
Yup! Just caught Howie on Hannity’s TV show; actually I had gone to see a trivia expert, Morgan White Jr, at the 99 in Saugus; that ended at 9 pm so as I drove back I heard Hannity/Fox News via XM (”magic radio”) Ch 21. I howled as Sean intro-ed Howie as a writer for the “Boston Globe”! Howie didn’t correct him
Boston Globe; I thought he would use that as a way to get a laugh, but he may not have wanted to use the time to correct him
Sandy, thanks for the extra pod casts yesterday. My snowbird friends and relatives love these to stay in touch and Howies commentary.
Raccoon - Thanks for the work
Howie, thanks for all of these past day’s shows.
Sandy, thanks again for the pod casts. They really help promote the show.
Does any know when Howie appeared on Fox last evening?
I don’t know, I was working (and the break room at work was locked onto CNN)
Wed show ping. We are also doing one more day of the Special Election thread
1st Hour
Upstart Republican Scott Brown rocketed to victory in the race to the U.S. Senate yesterday, steamrolling Attorney General Martha Coakleys layabout campaign in an against-all-odds triumph that sent shock waves from the Heartland to the White House...What message would you like Scott to bring to Washington?
2nd Hour
Democrats agree on the obvious: Somebody had taken the seat for granted, had underestimated the publics anger over the economy, over the Democrats health care overhaul, over plain old arrogance in Washington. The rest is an epic intraparty blame-a-thon not seen among Democrats since President George W. Bush won re-election over Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry in 2004. The White House joined in Tuesday while people were still voting in Massachusetts, blaming Coakley and dismissing the notion that the toxic political environment had been a factor. Coakleys campaign fired back in a point-by-point memo that blamed that very environment...Why do you think Coakley lost?
3rd Hour
Call in for THE CHUMPLINE!!!! 617-779-3469 and leave a message for Howie or Sandy about today’s stories or whatever else is bothering you!
4th Hour
Future Guests...
January 21
Gubanatorial candidate Christy Mihos will join us in studio!
