time for another brilliant Paul Krugman piece on the need for more Stimulus...
ping
That’s the way I read it too given who wrote it and the end paragraph!
Wait until April 15 and 1040 tas returns hit the IRS.
Last year was a disaster- this year will be worse.
So whats a government to do?
.........
Get out of the peoples way.
Put the crooks at the FED and Treasury in Jail and STOP SPENDING money we do not have.
Oh yes that reminds me I have another story somewhere about how your taxes are going up I have to find and post.
A friend of mine wants to open a bakery and figured he would check into a loan, since money is supposed to be inexpensive. Well, he offered his $500,000 tax free municipal bond (yielding 5%) as collateral and the bank told him: 1) you have to put the money in a 2% taxable CD in the bank, and 2) the interest rate on the loan is 6.5%. If the banks are lending to small business, they sure are not making it cheap.
“Even worse, mandates from Washington are expected to further aggravate state costs. For example, a final health care reform bill will almost surely include an expansion of Medicaid coverage and the recent increases in unemployment insurance are expected to be made permanent.”
Sometimes I wonder if this isn’t deliberate. If the States collapse that’s a huge crisis. The only way Obama and his treasonous buddies can get this NWO is by manageing a huge crisis. They have Interpol encounced, shortly thereafter Obama et al release all classified documents. Billions into green jobs when stats have shown in Spain that it doesn’t work. Millions/billions into NGO’s. Is he really getting his own personal army? They have ACORN, SEIU, and he’s said he wants “5 million Green Jobs”. These people are indocrinated w/ Saul Alinsky socalled injustices and are available at the sound of a whistle. He appears to be following up on this campaign promise unlike the transparency promise - to fundamentally change American. He’s taking orders from someone and it’s not our elected representatives.
Yes, but to what end? This is all very worrisome.
One can only note that “cutting” taxes is not mentioned,
neither is “cutting” services.
Woe, Woe, Woe!
Liberals think you just have to make everybody believe in Utopia and Utopia will be Real.
Reality is a mental construct that simply needs to be changed. That was the theory behind New Soviet Man. Ultimately the managers of such a system realize that you cannot change perception of reality for 100% of the population and so long as there are people who hold to the old mental construct of Reality it spoils it for the rest. Pol Pot knew what the solution must be as did Mao and Mr. Djugashvili. We will have that solution applied in America before Utopia is either attained or the fantasy is buried.
Their plan is working perfectly....ending in collapse and absolute control by these idoits via martial law.
Hm. Consider this: Leftwingers have always found the federalist system a thorn in their sides. They have made no secret of their desire to reduce the States to mere administrative districts of the federal gubbermint.
They hate State's rights, and if they can make the States collapse, they can relatively easily use the crisis to usurp the remaining shreds of State authority under emergency powers of the Federal beast.
No, I doubt the Obamanoids care if the States go belly up and need "systemic change to protect the peoples' rights." An eviscerated and emasculated Supreme(sic) Court will gladly acquiesce in the face of such a "clear and present danger."
Ain't gonna happen here...
elections....november 2006...MSM...the Worst Economy Ever...unemployment 4.5%...then The Democratic Congress....downhill ever since.
This really isn’t that big of a mystery. Wall St presumed the Pubbies would get serious about re-regulating... and made sure they could’nt.
