When I challenge the AGW theory the alarmists (besides screaming "consensus" and "settled") say well, you can't deny it got warmer in the 20th Century. OK, I respond, now we're in a cool trend, so doesn't that disprove your theory? Oh no, they say, that's just natural variability.

Where are those animal lovers who were crying about the poor polar bears? The poor manatees in Florida are freezing cold and huddling together in the warm water being released from a power plant. We have to stop the globe from cooling or else the manatees will die.

The way I sees it is this: Opponents of AGW have been saying for the past couple of years that the whole thing is related to sunspots. They've pointed out that the lack of sunspots matches dips in global temperature. They've also pointed out the glaring lack of sunspots on our sun. And now, it seems, that their theories and opinions about how the earth will cool is, at least for me, bearing fruit. IIRC, the earth is closest to the sun at the winter solstice, which would mean that there should be more solar energy being pumped into our atmosphere, which should be warming up. But the -40 degrees in the Dakotas and the 19 degrees in Atlanta (?) kind of shoot that idea down. So it seems that the sunspot guys are right, and AlGore is..... (snort) WRONG!!!
