Preach it Sister!

With Christianity, your sins are forgiven, the slate is wiped clean and your eternal life is guaranteed through nothing you did yourself, even though you don't deserve it. It's the best deal in the universe.

Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.

What an awesome column!!! No wonder I love this woman, she is right and unafraid to say so. May many souls be won to Christ through your bold proclaimation of the Gospel today. God bless you, sister in the Lord!!!

I knew there would be trouble.

It's a good kind of trouble, though. "If God be for me, who can be against me.", right?!

IMHO, she's always at her best when she's testifying of her faith in Christ.

Why on earth would Hume mention religion while discussing a public figure who had fallen from grace and was in need of redemption and forgiveness? Boy, talk about coming out of left field!

Naturally, leftists are assuming the only god to turn to is GOVERNMENT. That'll work (eyes rolling).

"With Christianity, your sins are forgiven, the slate is wiped clean and your eternal life is guaranteed through nothing you did yourself, even though you don't deserve it. It's the best deal in the universe!"

OOOOOO-Rah! Ann nails it!

One additional point....a christian can keep this "circle of forgiveness" going "ad infinitum"...after all, God is "All forgiving" so all the christian has to do is just keep asking for forgiveness, and their "trip to heaven" is assured.

Of course, there is always the thorny problem of whether God is more "just" than "forgiving", or more "forgiving" than "just".

But it's only a problem for christians.

Ann called a **LOT** of people CRANKS. I suppose she is just sooooooo much smarter than they are.

Yes, we know you hate Ann. Any comments about this article or are you here simply to cause trouble?

I happen to believe it's her best article ever.

My fave quote from the article:

God sent his only son to get the crap beaten out of him, die for our sins and rise from the dead. If you believe that, you’re in. Your sins are washed away from you — sins even worse than adultery! — because of the cross.
“He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:14.

Graphic but correct.

I'm not a Buddhist, but I think Brit Hume, though very well-intentioned and sincere, was wrong in asserting that there is no forgiveness in Buddhism. I think Ann was wrong too, in asserting that Buddhists want each man to be a little god.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that Buddhists believe that sins, and good actions, return to one through the law of karma. When one is purified and achieves Nirvana, he is identified with the absolute unmanifest Reality, eternally liberated, and untouched by the effects of his past actions.

Buddhism can seem superficial and selfish, as can Christianity, if one relies on "blog posts" and articles in popular media.
