Or Bob Kerry. Remember him? For a “conservative” state they sure do have a history of electing socialists.

According to
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2419175/posts, FReeper Bill Dupray says that Nelson said this:
Senator Nelson insisted that he had not asked for the Cornhusker Kickback to be placed in the U.S. Senate version of the health care bill to secure his vote. Senator Nelson told the attorney general that it was simply a marker placed in the U.S. Senate version of the bill and assured the attorney general that it would be fixed, says the memo.
He's just a sleasy politician trying to cover his ass.

In Nebraska, a Dec. 28 Rasmussen poll showed Republican Gov. Dave Heineman, who opposes the health-care bill, trouncing Mr. Nelson in a theoretical 2012 match-up, 61% to 30%. Mr. Nelson, who is 68 years old, was last re-elected in 2006 with 64% of the vote. That Rasmussen poll could be a preview of the fate of many so called moderate rats in Congress.

"But Im beginning to think these progressives arent really communists, just nothing more than robber barons and thieves."
Well "communists" everywhere turn out to be robber barons and thieves..... although we can't say "nothing more than" since mass murder, drastic curtailments of freedom, and evisceration of all human decency and civilization are typically part of the program.....
Just how far along this road our "progressives" are is open to a bit of debate, but their kinship with all of the commie thugocracies of the world is there.....

Senator Launches Ad Campaign at Home to Defend Key Vote on Health Bill I was in Nebraska this week. These commercials were all over cable TV. Sports, TNT, A&E, History, etc.
He had that "Deer in the Headlights" look.
However, I'll bet paying for these commercials was part of the "deal", but the purpose is not to change any votes. Just to have changed votes be plausible, so when the "vote counters" give him the election, it won't look too strange.
I drove some less traveled routes, as well as the more heavily used ones. Anti Abortion signs were EVERYWHERE. If the election is honest, he's toast. IF that is.

Wasn't Johnny Carson from Nebraska? Yes, my in-laws rented an apartment from his mother when they were first married. Also, IIRC, his brother was in many classes with my mother-in-law. He was the pigtails in the inkwell type.
Thursday, I noticed a "Johnny Carson Childhood Home", sign along "Johnny Carson" Blvd. in Norfolk that I'd not noticed before.
