and in addition to noting that Coakley refuses to face the voters emphasis that with noting how the congress toads refuse to meet with their constituencies and how they refer to them as un-American...Link her with them and that will start a fire.
Catsrus, I agree and appreciate you giving the RNC the benefit of the doubt.
One hypothesis that explains everyone’s behavior is that they all find it wise to hold their cards close to the vest. Why tell the Dems how much is being spent on Brown’s campaign? This seat is so important that the Dems will spend any amount trying to keep it. For Losing Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat in the bluest of all blue states would spell the end to every last aspect of their agenda.
So for every dollar that the RNC announces that it is sending, the Dems send ten dollars. Thus, the RNC’s strategy must be to announce nothing. Keep the powder dry and the Dems guessing.
Surely Steele knows that if Brown loses a close race for lack of financial support, the RNC is toast. I can’t believe he would make that mistake.
I will be watching the health care reform timeline. If there is a sudden rush to wrap this up before January 19, it tells me that the Dems are truly concerned that they will lose in Massachusetts.
If their legislative plans do not factor January 19 into the picture, I would guess that they are confident of victory.
As a Massachusetts resident, I don’t believe you folks realize just how RABID the voters are for Dems around here. You really don’t.
I had a relative once yell at me for my support of a Republican, saying, “Democrats are for the little guy and Republicans only care about big business. If you vote for a Republican, it means YOU WANT OLD PEOPLE TO STARVE IN THE STREET!” And yes, that was a direct quote.
I know one politically active guy in town who would, in my honest opinion, knowingly vote for SATAN HIMSELF if there was a “D” after his name. I kid thee not!
So while Scott Brown is photogenic, has kids and is a military vet (all things that Coakley is not) and in a year where Dems are going to get mowed down like cockroaches under an insecticide spray, I still can’t bet the mortgage on his chances. I’ll be voting for Brown and talking him up at every opportunity, but you folks really have no idea how cult-like the Dems’ hold on Massachusetts really is.
Good luck, Mr. Brown!
