On Fox all this morning it is just blah, blah, blah like the other networks on this incident!!

No explanation as to why the bombs were not detected in going thru the gate, etc!

A Michigan man who was aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 says he
witnessed Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab trying to board the plane in
Amsterdam without a passport.

Maybe a sign that the bomber-to-be (and/or his handlers) thought he
might be refused boarding in Amsterdam due to listing on a no-fly list.
Maybe the bomber-to-be knew his father had notified the US authorities
of his radicalization.

After 9-11, I did hear that “refugees” from Iraq and other Middle East
hell-holes would get aboard Canadian-bound flights at Western European
airports, but on landing in Canada say they were seeking sanctuary
(due to persecution back home) and sometimes said “I have no documentation”.

Canada in her goodness (and naivete, sp?) routinely took them in.

I don’t know if this is a full picture as I just remember a couple
of news article. Gad, it’s getting close to being a decade ago...

"“The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time.'”

Which guy? The well-dressed man or the gate agent?

No explanation as to why the bombs were not detected in going thru the gate, etc!

Magnetometers are useless to detect bombs unless they have decent quantities of metal.

This bomb was chemical, housed in plastic, hence undetectable to conventional security.

The systems that employ "puffers" of air and check for explosive residue may have caught this, but not very likely if there was no spillage outside the plastic bag and syringe.

Even a bomb-sniffing dog would be hard-pressed to discover this at anything other than close range.

A hand search (pat-down) would probably have failed as most do not go between the legs into the groin area.

The lesson here is that our enemies are learning how to beat our systems and will not give up.

As expected -

I sent this item to multiple MSM via Twitter - one disintereted response (not even curious as to why)

I read this on FR yesterday and yet not one MSM outlet has reported this.

I wonder why not?

Napolitano has announced that "there is no evidence of a wider plot." That's the party line. (Mustn't make Obama, Homeland Security, other intelligence agencies look bad, must we?)

There is absolutely no way to respond to that post without setting off my self censorship subprogram.

got the answer...just saw the NYT article

“But then the fire was getting worse, so I grabbed the suspect out of the seat,” Mr. Schuringa said. Flight attendants ran up with fire extinguishers, doused the flames and helped Mr. Schuringa walk Mr. Abdulmutallab to first class, where he was stripped, searched and locked in handcuffs.

“Magnetometers are useless to detect bombs unless they have decent quantities of metal.”

I didn’t realize that! Seems that TSA is pretty useless and a waste of time and money.

It is stunning how these POS get away with ruining our country.MSM is helping them every step of the way

altho one stat I learned yesterday gave me hope.
COMBINED “broadcast news ( ABC CBS NBC) have 31 million viewers.
Fox news ALONE has 27 million.

This gives me hope real people can rise up and stop this POS and his followers

The country has been under attack twice in 30 days and where is our commander and chief?

Jolly inconvenient, this terrorist stuff. Our "commander in chief" is focused on important items more worthy of his attention and station in life - like wealth redistribution, unilateral disarmament, world government, as well as the most satisfying way to enjoy the fruits of his office, such as million-dollar vacation retreats, sumptuous banquets, etc.

I’d seen these reports too. Initially just the story and then repeated with a picture of witness’s boarding pass and more information on the witness, enough to make him sound plausible. It might be a simple case of mistaken identity; maybe he saw someone else try what he saw. The MSM claim they don’t like to run stories with just one source. However I’ve not heard them ask the simple question that would either shoot this story down or fill the pot, “Did the bomber have his passport?” If they can’t, or refuse, to answer with a simple “Yes” than there’s a STORY here!

I didn’t realize that! Seems that TSA is pretty useless and a waste of time and money.

Technology cannot solve all security concerns.

People are fallible.

There is no 100% perfect security for millions of travelers.

The question you need to ask: Is some level of security necessary?

Obama refused to call the Ft. Hood attack terrorism, after all the attacker was on his transition team. Obama called the Christmas airliner attack an “attempted attack” as the bomb did not fully ignite. Obama affords terrorist the protections of civilian criminal courts. Obama curtailed Bush era surveillance measures to protect civil rights, terrorist civil rights. Obama is pretending there are no terror attacks since he took office. Unfortunately preventing terror attacks requires planning, diligence, legal tools, effective prosecution, and will; all attributes lacking in our President and the enemies of the country he put in charge of government. Obama will avoid addressing the American people on the recurring attacks so as to pretend there are no attacks.

Many Indian Muslims are indistinguishable from Indian Hindus, since most of the Muslims are descendents of Hindus who were forcibly “converted” to Islam in the first place.

The level of Security that is needed is certainly before the passengers approach TSA!!

"...FBI also arrested a different Indian man while we were held in customs after a bomb sniffing dog detected a bomb in his carry on bag and he was searched after we landed. This was later confirmed while we were in customs when an FBI agent said to us “You are being moved to another area because this area is not safe. Read between the lines. Some of you saw what just happened.”(The arrest of the other Indian man)..."
