Maybe it didn’t work so well because of the failures in Copenhagen?

Perhaps Clyburn would sing a different tune if he had been on that plane.

Gibbs saying we ought to give ourselves a New Year’s Resolution and not use this as a political football.

SIL...heh, he looks at me and says...”What the hell is this nonsense about bringing up those guys from Gitmo? Why’s he gonna do this?”
#####
Next holiday get-together SIL will be telling you how he has “found” Rush! Get him a Gitmo tee shirt.

I still see Sean as evolving, slowly but surely, Sometimes I think it's hard to compare these guys. The biggest and the best,Hannity,Levin, Rush,Beck,Boortz, Laura,Savage, all have their own personalities IMHO. The copy cats usually fall by the wayside. In the end Arbitron does all the hard work of comparing styles.

During the start of the Iraq war the one person that made my husband and I roll on the floor laughing was Baghdad Bob... and the final laugh was when he was telling everyone we were no where near Baghdad and Fox was showing a split screen with our tanks rolling into the town square...... this guy Gibbs is the American version of Baghdad Bob.. ergo DC Bob.. who are you going to believe me or your lying eyes Bob....
The best line from Baghdad Bob was when a reporter asked about the shots/blasts they were hearing in the distance. His response was, "That's the Americans committing suicide." lolol. Yep, DC Bob is apropo for Gibbs.

Perhaps you are correct, with the Rasmussen Daily Approval index now settling into new low levels of -16 to -18 (back up to -16 today). One would think eventually the old dying lame stream media will have to tell one or two nuggets of truth in a weeks time. Maybe?
What everyone in the media seems to be missing is this bit of data. A majority of Americans still blame Bush, not Obama for the economy. Right now 41% blame Obama, 51% blame Bush. In the next 6 months, based on current trends, that number should flip. When that happens, Dear Reader's polling numbers should go thur the basement.

He is evolving, but too slow for me... he really needs to spend more time reading up on history (JMHO)...
To: Girlene
OMG, you are right... I almost forgot that part.. he really did provide some good entertainment.
To: Arizona Carolyn
Historically, its been a huge trip from print journalism to on air. I made the trip but one or the other usually suffers.
If you are a first class nuts and bolts Robert Novak style print journalist the confines of print seldom translate into good radio or tv. He was one of the few to make the trip and even then he wound up walking out of a CNN studio one day out of sheer frustration.

No wonder liberals always hate nazis; they kept good records.Liberals thought the Nazis were peachy keen until they turned on their beloved Soviet Union.

I blame the media for the blame Bush numbers (well that and a stupid country)....... because we had a democratic majority in congress the last two years of his administration... Bush’s screw up was not using his veto pen and not explaining things properly to the public when he tried to do something to reign in Fannie and Freddie....

Actually, Gibbs is so transparent you can easily figure out what he is saying just by thinking the exact opposite most of the time.
These guys get easier to figure out as they plod along.

I don’t see how any self-respecting journalist could work at CNN (or MSNBC).... I see Robert Bennett is on Fox more these days, did he quit CNN, too?

Back from mass and just caught your comment on Napolitano's "the system worked" quote.
What system? Are we going to have an alert Dutch film maker stationed on every plane? Is that the system?
Back on last January, Howlin (on another site) told me that we were now on our own. THAT is the truth!
We ARE on our own in defending against terrorism.
And my husband is overseas now and will be flying home through Africa and Heathrow in the middle of January. I just e-mailed him about the new regulations and told him he is going to have to be alert; apparently that is "the system that works."
Bah!

My son is sensible but has a liberal mindset because ... It is a natural outgrowth of childhood. As a child you are dependent on someone for your needs. When you suddenly are forced out into the real adult world, the tendency is for the child to look for a "new parent". Most kids tend to look to Government as the "new parent." They eventually out grow that once they are forced to actually deal with the Government awhile.
