I was so surprised that this messagethread got so very little 'traction,' as it seemed pretty peculiar to SUDDENLY announce the first of what will become annual meetings of all the Israeli embassey heads, with the actual meeting scheduled 3 days later -- and also, because they selected Christmas Eve to make the announcement.
Pretty peculiar, but there doesn't seem to be much in the news about it, not at all.
Peculiar indeed. But with the current unrest in Iran, this might really be seen by Israel as an opportune time to take care of business.
ON the other hand, it looks like Netanyahu isn’t moving on Iran that quickly. From his speech to the Knesset Special Session on Dec 23.
“That’s why there’s now a possibility that the international community will impose tight sanctions against Iran. We’re working hard to achieve this goal; not everything can be revealed, but we’re working intensely in the international arena to ensure that harsh sanctions are imposed on Iran. Time will tell if these sanctions will be enough to halt the Iranian nuclear program, but they’re a critical and even essential condition. In my estimate, decisions will be made at beginning of the 2010. I think in February at least by the United Nations.”
On another thread, one about the NY Times Square vehicle, near the very end, mestamachine mentioned that TODAY Bibi called an emergency meeting of the Knesset.
And evidentally no one knows what transpired within.
I wonder what Netanyahu spoke about?????
VERY curious, indeed.
TODAY Bibi called an emergency meeting of the Knesset.
