This is what the sign says: "At the time of the winter solstice, let reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is just myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."

God bless Mr. Kelly and may the people of Illinois remember this on election day.

I would put a sign next to theirs. “Hey Atheist’s, if you do not recognise GOD he will not recognise you. And you are going to be dead a long, Long, time.”

The 2009 Winter Solstice occurred at 9:47 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2009. Their event has now passed till next year. Time to stow the sign.

I see no reason why atheist expression should not be allowed alongside other religions (because that’s what it is).

My dos centavos...

You have a freedom OF religion. Not a freedom FROM religion.

I'm an Agnostic that likes Heathenism but regularly attends a Luthern Church and am raising my kids as Christians.

God is bigger than any one flavor of religion. If you don't want to follow a religion, or think it's all nonsense, that is up to you. Being militantly ANTI-religion trips over that whole "freedom" thing and will more than likely not end well for the Atheist.
