The deal has enraged other Senators,...
The other senators aren’t the only enraged Americans. One of these days, one of these Washington bozos is gonna catch something really hard upside the head. If push comes to shove, better be the shover, and not the shovee.

Nelson is on record as of yesterday that he would cancel his Medicare buyoff if the Nebraska governor asks him to. But it sounds like Nelson's vote FOR the overall Senate Bill would remain. His vote needs to be pulled because of the abortion provisions that will likely be watered down or eliminated in Conference. |

The deal has enraged other Senators, especially those from red states, whose Republican Senators didnt bring home any pork at all because they were not part of the negotiations with Democratic leaders. Or maybe they have a small amount of decency, not being democrats.

Republican Senators didnt bring home any pork at all because they were not part of the negotiations with Democratic leaders.Yeah but, at least they got to watch it on C-SPAN, right? I mean, sure, I was stuck at work every day but, Mr. Obama said this would all happen out in the open, on C-SPAN. That's just the sort of change we voted for.

I really think it is time for a few states to tender plans to secede. If they were contiguous, all the better. Other than Florida York, I think the entire south would leave. Anyone upset by this could return north whence they came.

Breaking news today from the Texas AG's Office:
The Nebraska Compromise, which permanently exempts Nebraska from paying Medicaid costs that Texas and all other 49 states must pay, may violate the United States Constitution, as well as other provisions of federal law, Abbott said. In light of this unprecedented and highly questionable backroom deal, Texas will join South Carolina and other states in an effort to thoroughly review the constitutionality and legality of the Nebraska Compromise.
Abbott added that his office would look at challenging the exemption, if it remains a part of the final bill. He also called the exemption a backroom deal.
Because it disadvantages Texas taxpayers, the Texas Attorney Generals Office will explore all available avenues to challenge and overturn this legally problematic provision. Our democratic system of government depends upon transparency and openness, he said. This backroom deal goes too far and must be challenged because Texas deserves better.

You know if this bill stands Nebraska will have a lot of “residents” all of the sudden.
I know military members can “live” there while not having a home there.

Couldn’t this be considered essentially a “bill of attainder”, since it is penalizing the taxpayers of certain states because their senators did not vote in favor of the bill?
To: reaganaut1
10? Why not 49 states. Or, in Obama’s math, 56 states.
