I think he ought to keep his mouth shut and let the voters decide what candidate have a chance. His input is not necessary. He is IRRELEVANT. Proved it ten-fold in the last election. Acted as if he was the anointed one and the national party and MSM did everything they could for a loser from the get-go. He never had a chance of beating any Dem candidate truthfully.

He was then and is now ... IRRELEVANT.

You need to comprehend "irony." McCain was clearly implying that the media and Dems keep saying she's irrelevant but they attack her anyway.

This. There is no bigger SP fan or Juan McCain hater than me, but he was clearly saying that she was "irrelevant" as a dig on the MSM.

Sure put quotes around “irrelevant”, that’s all. We all would sound like dopes if a transcript were made of every word we speak.

There's a reason he says stuff like this.

Yes, if he’s paraphrasing the hypocritical media by point out that they say she’s irrelevant yet attack her at every opportunity, then yes, it wasn’t a jab at her. It could have been a delivery problem, because sometimes when people switch gears and jump right into an imitation and start acting like the people you’re trying to show are being ridiculous, not everyone catches the sarcasm. Happens all the time here, some people have missed it in my posts, and I have missed it in some people’s posts.

Trouble is, it’s McCain doing it, and because he’s a RINO, it can be hard to tell when he’s sarcastic and imitating the media. Maybe not the best guy in the Republican Party to be mimicking the media that’s attacking Palin, unless he’s very explicitly clear he’s imitating them.

Horsehockey! Anyone who had seen the MTP broadcast or the video would know McCain wasn’t attacking Palin. This is a blatant attack on McCain using the printed word as cover.

See my tagline: She might as well start looking at fabric swatches and carpet samples and pick which of the historic desks she’ll sit at in the Oval Office as far as I’m concerned.

I’m about as far from being a fan of John McCain as I could be, but I have to speak up for him, here. He was not saying Sarah Palin is irrelevant. He was mocking the media claims of her irrelevancy, while they have been attacking her nonstop.

He’s finally sticking up for her, for whatever reason. There are plenty of reasons to crap on McCain. This isn’t one of them.

“She’s irrelevant, but they continue to attack her.”

Well despite the words isn’t that what we all say. The RATs say she’s no threat, irrelevant, their pick as our nominee yet they continue to focus all their attacks on her.

And it started in Alaska last year. They didn’t go after her as Alaska’s Gov to further her prospects as the Rep Nominee. It was to destroy her. No less.

That’s the impression I got from reading it. I completely disdain McCain but I think this is a bogus criticism.

He was mocking the media because they are constantly saying she is irrelevant yet they are obsessed with her. Watch the video, he is being sarcastic. I am no fan of McCain but I am taking his side in this, he was NOT calling her irrelevant at all

Exactly. I am NO fan of McCain, but this is an example of an out-of-context "gotcha" quote. He's speaking the word "irrelevant" from "their" perspective.

He's still a weasel.

Your college must have a tutoring program for reading comprehension. Check it out.

Oh, I can read fine, Chunga.

And I can read McCain's words, directly quoted from his mouth, just fine, too.

Now, if that wasn't what he really meant, then perhaps he should have been a bit clearer with how he delivered them.

Gentlemen, gentlemen ( and ladies too of course), let's take a deep breadth here.

I think the Wall Street Journal got it totally wrong.
I have watched the tape. What McCain clearly meant was, if Sarah Palin is so irrelevant, whys is the MSM constantly attacking her?
He wasn't saying she was irrelevant at all.
The Wall Street Journal should really know better than to go about causing unnecessary trouble like that.

Yup.
The WSJ is clearly being very careless with the facts here in an attempt to cause mischief.
Shame on them!
