Tea Party Express, Part Three

Just about every blockbuster movie is followed by a sequel, or two. The tea party cross country caravan, it appears, is no different.
A Tea Party Express official tells CNN that they’re planning a third national tour in late March and early April that will culminate in the nation’s capitol on April 15, tax deadline day.
Levi Russell, a spokesman for the group, which is organized by the conservative political action committee Our Country Deserves Better, says the slogan for the tour is “just vote them out.”
Russell says that with the crucial 2010 midterm elections just months away, the tour will spotlight members of Congress who they consider the worst offenders when it comes to fiscal policy. While both Republicans and Democratic lawmakers will be targeted, Russell acknowledges that more Democrats than Republicans will be on their scopes.

Jet, that is very kind of you... Bless your heart. Thank you. To see freepers suggest that we squash letter writing just floors me. The letters are HISTORICAL EVIDENCE OF ANGER, and DISCORD OF VOTERS. EVIDENCE!

Doylestown Township lawyer and Air Force veteran, whose political interest was steeped in Bucks County's Tea Party movement, Tuesday announced he will seek the Republican nomination for Congress for PA's 8th District. At the Elkins Gallery in the Mercer Museum, Rob Mitchell told family and supporters that if elected he would bring common sense to Congress and support allowing business to solve national problems. "I am running for congress because I trust the wisdom of the American people more than I trust the judgment of the Washington elites," he said, a theme repeated several times during his 15 minute speech. "I trust you to be able to manage your health care better than the government can. I trust you to be able to better manage your business than the government can. I trust you to mange your lives better than the governmenbt can".

Getting into Wednesdays Washington, D.C., premiere of Tea Party: The Documentary Film meant walking through a steady rain into the Ronald Reagan building, a sprawling downtown trade and convention center where the economic conservative group FreedomWorks, which helped organize a number of Tea Party protests, had rented a foyer and a sizable auditorium. The stars of the film relaxed and talked with former House Majority Leader and FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.). Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) handed out business cards to a steady stream of well-wishers. All of the guests made their way into the auditorium on the FreedomWorks version of a red carpet a strip of green astroturf.
Were goofing on Hollywood, said FreedomWorks president Matt Kibbe, dressed in evening wear alongside his wife Terry. It was [producer] Luke Livingstons idea.
The award show trappings were the only tongue-in-cheek part of the evening. Tea Party: The Documentary Film is, according to its stars and filmmakers, an attempt to celebrate and correct the history of what Armey called a movement to fulfill the destiny of this land. Livingston said he and his volunteers paid for the movie, maxing out our credit cards, for a total of around $500,000. Two more members of Congress, Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), joined the proceedings to pay tribute to the activists who organized the 9/12 taxpayer march on Washington, which drew an estimated 60,000 people to the Capitol to protest the Democrats economic agenda. In remarks before the start of the film, Blackburn made a spirited pitch for Tea Partiers to come down to Nashville for Februarys national Tea Party Convention.
When you come to Tennessee, said Blackburn, theyll be sure in telling you like my husband likes to say when it comes to taxes, if 10 percent is good enough for God on Sunday, its good enough for the government on Monday.

The Founders’ Message of Hope for Concerned Americans Today

It was in this very month, 184 years ago, that the aged Thomas Jefferson took pen in hand and composed a message for all future Americans. Just eight months before he died, he had become alarmed at the obtrusiveness of the federal government upon the rights of the states and the people. He drafted a document to be adopted by the Virginia General Assembly entitled Declarations and Protest of the Commonwealth of Virginia, on the Principles of the Constitution of the United States of America, and on the Violations of them.
This great Founder had already noticed a beginning departure from the balanced, limited government of the Constitution, and so he wrote, “...the federal branch has assumed in some cases, and claimed in others, a right of enlarging its own powers by constructions, inferences, and indefinite deductions from those directly given, which this assembly does declare to be usurpations of the powers retained to the independent branches (states), mere interpolations into the compact, and direct infractions of it.

...Tina was our conservative friend. She was excited to be a part of the Olympia Tea Parties and proudly stated why she got involved in politics over the past year. Tina was sharp too, only a couple mornings ago we had a great discussion on the future of our Republic and how we felt true limited government conservatives should take back out political party. If you wanted any details over the massive government spending she would have them for you. If anyone thinks these comments are off color then you did not know Tina well. She would tell you where you could go and like Mark you always knew where you stood with her. She was the toughest little cop I have ever known. Tina has two children and a husband who loves her deeply. My gut hurts that I missed your Halloween party this year. Your memory and strength will help guide our movement to retake our party, this I promise you....
