For the same reason there is an anti-Mormon thread nearly every day.

Playing the religion card again, eh? It couldn't possibly be Romney's continued support of Romneycare, could it?

“Is there a particular reason that FR has the anti-romney stuff on virtually every post?”

Yes there is! It’s because Mutt Romney is a worthless anti gun, pro abortion, pro queer agenda, liberal puke!

Next question?

Why would you want dissenting views? You wouldn’t want to ruin the atmosphere of a free trip to WDC, free fine dining, free lodging in beautiful hotels and mutual back-slapping, would you? Let the good times roll!!!!

This is a protoypical good news bad news scenario from the Obamunists. The bad news is that whatever comes out of this summit can’t possibly solve the unemployment problem. The good news is that whatever comes out of this summit can’t possibly solve the unemployment problem. The latter is good news of course because it’s one more nail in the Democrats’ re-election coffin. The Obamunists planned for only one term anyway, since bad news is what they expect from completing their deliberately destructive agenda. In fact, for the Obamunists, bad news is good news because that means their plans are working. Of course, the clueless Democrats won’t wake up and smell the Obama-poop until a couple of months before re-election time, and that of course is the good news, for real.

Welcome to FR, so how long have you been lurking? Certainly you have been checking in here to be able to assert that ‘FR has the anti-romney stuff on virtually every post’? I recommend you check with the blog owner Jim Robinson about the Romney situation before getting into further discussion regarding Romney...if you know what I mean, wink, wink.

Romneycare was crafted by the Heritage Foundation. Are they RINOs too? Calling Romneycare “socialized medicine” is a baldfaced lie. It kept the insurance and the provision of care in the private sector.

Romneycare was an effort — drafted by one of the most reliably conservative groups out there — to AVOID socialized medicine, while dealing with the problem of “free riders.” We are already paying the bills of the uninsured, who show up at hospital waiting rooms and give phony names.

With the exception of Romney’s former position on abortion laws — which I didn’t like either — virtually everything else that is said about him here on FR is a gross distortion. His positions are distorted to serve a visceral hatred for Romney coming from someplace else, and it’s not hard to figure out where.

The truth is, of all the major candidates, Romney has lived the most “conservative” life.

No, but do you see Heritage still calling it a success? Romney does.

Calling Romneycare “socialized medicine” is a baldfaced lie. It kept the insurance and the provision of care in the private sector.

It forces people to get insurance, which IS socialist. And has increased costs, something Romney denies but the data clearly indicates otherwise.

We are already paying the bills of the uninsured, who show up at hospital waiting rooms and give phony names.

The road to hell is paved with big government intentions. The solution is to change the law to not force ERs to treat everyone even if all they have is a sore throat, not to increase the intrusiveness of government just because the previous government intrusion had some bad unintended consequences (as government intrusions always do).

Too bad we can't say the same thing about his voting record, huh?

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Actually, I think the Heritage Foundation is still defending it, except for the changes made by the Democrat legislature. Here is what they recently said about the mandate to buy insurance.

“Under the Romney proposal, those who did not wish to buy health insurance would be allowed to self-insure, but they would have to post a $10,000 bond to pay their health-care bills, such as hospital emergency care, instead of shifting them onto the taxpayer. Anyone who refused to do so would lose an exemption on his state income tax.”

“Romney’s proposal, strictly speaking, was not a requirement to purchase health insurance; it was a requirement to pay one’s health bills, through insurance or predetermined direct payment, thus reducing the burden on taxpayers. Nonetheless, it satisfied nobody. Critics on the right, especially libertarians, said it amounted to a health-insurance mandate, while those on the left said it was a weak and unnecessary substitute for the “real thing,” which the Massachusetts legislature enacted in 2006: a straight mandate for individuals to buy health insurance or pay a fine.”

Frankly, I don’t think requiring everyone to have health insurance is any more “socialist” than requiring everyone to have car insurance. Well — maybe slightly more, because you can choose not to own a car.

But, you’re right, the government tells hospitals that they can’t turn people away. So, I think there should be some way to force people to pay their own bills, instead of shifting the cost to those of us who do pay our bills.

A governors signature is a vote to confirm. No signature, no bill.

Not the same thing, at all. A refusal to sign a bill is rare, for governors of any political stripe.

You know, some supposedly “conservative” people here want to devalue Romney’s scandal-free personal life, and what it says about him. Personally, I think it says a great deal about his character and trustworthiness. W’s morality and faithfulness to Laura is one of the things that made me like him.

Romney is a handsome, rich man who has to have had — and continue to have — unlimited opportunities to cheat. But, he hasn’t. He didn’t have a shotgun to his back when he married Ann.

And, he has set an example for and taught five handsome, rich sons, who have also led scandal-free lives. All his grandchildren have been born in wedlock.

As a businessman, he has succeeded enormously, on his own brains and merit. Again, no scandal.

These are no small matters. And yet, we have people here who won’t even acknowledge any of the foregoing. People who, I’d be willing to bet, can’t match Romney in character, intelligence, or achievement, calling him every dirty name in the book.

All of that says less about Romney than it does about the people making the comments.
