Honestly, I find value in both sites and see the arguments by both. I really like Freerepublic, but some of the fanaticism turns me off and I know it does with mainstream folks.
For those of us that are fiscal conservatives, pro military but are not religious zealots, where do we go? The far right doesn’t want us, the far left we don’t want.

Think how this works.
He stops getting so many hits, so the site owner decides to go rogue.
He trashes his former friends, then posts the essay across the net.
All of a sudden, “evil conservatives” start hitting the site, giving him traffic.
See how that works? What’s an easier way to get attention than to trash your former friends?
I read it. That was simply pathetic.
The truth is the truth.
Even if it is wrapped in hatred, anger, villification, vituperation and sarcasm, it is still the truth.
If this guy left conservatism and went liberal because some jerk chose to encase his/her point of view in what liberals like to call “hate speech”, then that guy was never a conservative to begin with.
I don’t agree with the way a lot of people express their point of view, but if I don’t agree with they way they express it, that doesn’t mean I abandon my convictions and embrace the opposite point of view. To do that simply means you had no conviction to begin with.
He is a huge supporter of AGW...what did you expect? When the gig is up...they run for cover and he knows he will get no cover from people with principles. Much better to hang with a crowd that have principles and convictions of convenience over substance.
I sincerely hope that some of my comments about 0bama and the late Senator Kennedy had something to do with this. :)
