Staff members for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Democratic majority prepared the report at the request of the chairman, Sen. John Kerry,

I am surprised that this was even in the article given the bias of the GM.

One thing I have never understood about the Tora Bora time frame was our apparent willingness to drive them into Pakistan, rather than cutting off their line of retreat with airborne troops and capturing/killing the lot of Taliban and Al Queda. I know it would have been expensive to keep them re-supplied, but would have cleaned things up quickly. Any information out there?

Yes Bubba Clinton had a chance to get him in the Sudan. But let OBL go.
Yes we know about Bubba’s lost opportunity.

Regardless of your political views, the entry into the Afghan theatre was botched, at best. There were several opportunities to deliver a crushing blow to these cavemen...all were blown. The U.S. military has become too PC to be effective. The U. S. has not won a war since WWII!!! It’s time to clean house in the Pentagon just like it’s time to clean house in Congress.

So, Bush failed to capture UBL, who was the figure head behind the 9-11 attack, but he DID capture the guy who actually planned and implemented 9-11, KSM. Bush aggressively interrogated KSM, and as a result captured or killed much of the rest of the leadership of al Qaeda, and prevented dozens of further terror attacks against the United States. Bush also persisted, despite repeated sabotaging of the process by Democrats, in prosecuting KSM for his crimes, to the point where KSM was willing to plead guilty and accept execution, until Obama HALTED his prosecution, and now insists on giving a him a show trial, where KSM will be the one giving the show, which will drag on for years, and in which he might possibly be acquitted.

But the only thing that is supposed to matter to us is that Bush failed to capture UBL. We're supposed to just ignore all the rest. Uh, huh. Right.

Nice try, Dems.

"Staff members for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Democratic majority prepared the report at the request of the chairman, Sen. John Kerry"

Hasn't anyone told Lurch that the 2004 election is over, he lost and Bush is no longer in office?

I wonder too just how much this rehashing of old news cost us?

Lemme guess ... author John Kerry ... fresh and hot off the press. They will certainly try to make the troop surge Bushes fault.

"This surge in troops is necessary because the previous administration was lacking in its ability to ... ga ga ga"

The yahoo article blames Bush and nobody else.

Clinton missed bin laden.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/1440359/Clinton-missed-chance-to-get-rid-of-bin-Laden.html

If Bush missed him I will bet democrats in some committee
stopped him and the media is now spinning this
so Obama their false messiah can blame Bush some more.

John Kerry forgot what Bill Clinton said:

Much of the controversy stems from claims that President Clinton made in a February 2002 speech and then retracted in his 2004 testimony to the 9/11 Commission. In the 2002 speech Clinton seems to admit that the Sudanese government offered to turn over bin Laden:

Clinton: So we tried to be quite aggressive with them [al Qaeda]. We got – well, Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan. He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we’d been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again. They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America. So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, ‘cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn’t and that’s how he wound up in Afghanistan.

Now I will definitely believe it, no agenda (/sarc)

Sounds like more political 20/20 hindsight, reminding us all that EVERYTHING is Bush's fault.

This all just being advanced to boost the truthers. (Aka patholigical liars). The Senate has no idea whether bin Laden was missed or blown into a million pieces. Most in the Senate are lucky if they can find their Depends or their way from the bathroom back to the bar.

This is ooooolllllld news.

When that 48 hour truce was made between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban during the battle at Tora Bora (so everyone could collect their dead iirc), everyone KNEW that they and Binny Baby scooted over to Pakistan during that time period(1).

The RATS are attempting to use this to once again bash Bush. Distract from the Globular Warming fraud scandal and add cover for the Cap & Tax Bill. And cover for Barry's continuing screw ups like 'fixing' the economy.

(1) 'Jerry Rivers' reported live from the top of that mountain in Tora Bora after the truce. He even showed the path they took into Pakistan.

A good friend of mine who I’ve known since high school Ret. Col. Pete Blaber of Delta Force who now lives out near me in Santa Monica, CA planned Operation Anaconda. He worte a book that came out last Christmas called “The Mission, The Men, and Me: Lessons From A Former Delta Force Commander.” He told me he knew based on information from his contacts that UBL was most likely in Tora Bora within a week after he and his Hunter/Killer Group arrived in Afghanistan. Delta Force (The Unit) always thinks outside the box. In his book he wrote how he interviewed a former Al Qaeda security guard Ali Mohamed who was in prison since 1998 for the Kenyan and Tanzanian embassy bombings. Mohamed, who trained UBL security guards and also trained with the Marines told him, “Look for his security detail. He trust only a few men, and they are the ones who know where he is. Don’t waste your time trying to find him; because he is too careful. You will increase you odds tenfold if you focus on his ten closest security guards. You must do your ‘Police Work’ and learn where the guards families are and then focus your communication devices and surveillance on key members of those families. Then just wait for them to lead you back to bin Laden.” He said like many who are on the run, UBL is a creature of habit and can only go where he trust the people around him......His comamders decided to take another route.

This has been the “backup plan” since the communist takeover here in January.

Test the waters with the public when the time comes to surrender in the region...the “public”, in larger numbers, is already jaded with these maniacal racist savages in the administration. Though 75% of the black population still has a slave dependency mentality (unfortunately...thank you post-reconstruction government for failing valid assimilation attempts), and though 25-30% of the population in general is more concerned about which man’s face Adam Lambert will shove his crotch into next on national tv, a growing number of discontents are being added to the muster rolls of us who never supported these barbarians from the get go.

That being said, it is now “CYA” time for these cowardly constitution haters and will use this pointless, aged, non-story as a cover for their surrender in the region sooner than later.

Anyone who believes that a communist controlled CON-gress truly “investigated” this (other than in a secluded room to formulate their typical traitorous talking points) in any manner other than in ways to spin a surrender should themselves be sent to the hague. They are citizens who do not deserve liberty. The next generation won’t even know what the word means...nor will they care... UNLESS WE CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY...SOON.

The network slaves attatched to the lure of the beltway ‘teat’ took their milk as those who are programmed to do so will always do, and spewed it to the shrinking
un-masses who nod in agreement with their hands raised to their gods of mis-information, taking as gospel the stale manna flung to anyone who will accept it and swallow it all the way down....they know that it is so rotten that it will HAVE to be reguritated..hopefully infecting others. They are dying a slow death from starvation and thirst...only they don’t know it. Their media masters DO know it because they too are in the midst of their own self-inflicted genocide.

Those who want REAL change..for the GOOD of America and her missplaced ideals...well to them...to us..our time is soon.

Holding up signs with cute cartoons and catchy slogans would’ve been met by the same silence on December 16th 1773 as it is today...lest you all forget what the Boston Tea “party” was truly about. It was originally called, and still SHOULD be called, “The destruction of tea at the Boston Harbor.” Our patriot ancestors weren’t destroying cardboard cutouts or crayola markers while shouting cute slogans to deaf ears who no longer need nor care about “their people”.

In the end liberty always wins.

In the end Good WILL prevail.

Decide where you stand. Be confident in your choice. Be ever more confident in our Lord. Take courage and hold on to it. The question of “when is enough... enough?” has been answered long ago.

Now...let’s get to work.

Lady Liberty still shines bright...and I think she just gave us a smile. She believes in us. She depends on us.

Let’s get to work.
