Romney is weak across the board, with Republicans, Independents, and even Democrats, people don't like him and while the $150,000,000.00 campaign he ran selling his personal image has some residual effect, it cannot overcome his fundamental flaws.

I CANNOT understand how he could possibly have 48%!!!

Easy.
Poll taker: Given the three choices of
A) Mitt,
B)Romney or
C) Other,
which do you endorse for 2012 Presidential candidate?

Sorry, I don’t accept your “ironclad” opinion as fact. If Huckabee decides to run, I’ll deal with it at that point in time. Otherwise, Romney running or even another shot by Giuliani will get my full attention in the short run.

Hopefully, we conservatives will have a viable choice of our own to vote for, both in the primaries and the general election.

All I can add to this discussion after reading the current 57 posts is that IMO no efforts should be made to promote any Leftists within the Republican Party.

IOW if it’s a RINO, it’s a no go.

RINO’s don’t belong in Conservative circles, as to allow them to remain would be to identify with them. The public who consider Republicans as Conservatives would be mislead.

Why should we put up a BIG sign that says to Joe and Jane America that Conservatives are RINO’s?

Huck would make an excellent running mate, because he’s going to be a punchline, and at the bottom of the ticket is a great place for him to be, particularly if he plans to actually run as his running mate’s eventual successor.

“It would be better for Romney if just made TV appearances...”

Maybe he can learn to play the tamborine and the chimes, and he could join Huckleberry’s band and show. They could call themselves “Dos Lonely RINOs”

Funny how all RINO’s want to be thought of as conservatives, but no conservative wants to be thought of as a RINO.

It’s as if RINO’s have something to hide, that they know they are ...are...wrong, but still they persist. What does that tell you about a person?

Mitt will have a paid for, bought, written by someone else book that he didn’t write, and the views have all been managed to death that he will say it is the real him. Blech!

Mitt is not a bad person

Mitt is a bad person, one of the worst in politics, that is what stirs the spider senses of the general public, they sense the inner man and they don't like him or trust him.

Mitt Romney is one nasty character that seems to be a sociopath when you look at his life and see that he is empty and void of any beliefs, he is only a mask selling his personal ambition. Mitt only sees a new stage that he wants to stand on, another competition, he doesn't want to serve any one.

Pretty well sums it up. Of course, the way BO is screwing up the country, they could dig up the body of Barry Goldwater in three years and he'd beat BO.

That's why BO is going to make a major play for amnesty after he shoves the health care crap sandwich through congress-- he'll need those votes to make it competitive.

How are Jesus' poll numbers holding up in Jerusalem a few days before Passover?

When it comes to 'polls', these are the only ones that matter to me:

“It’s as if RINO’s have something to hide, that they know they are ...are...wrong, but still they persist. What does that tell you about a person?”

What they are hiding primarily is that they are Leftists. IOW they are the enemy within Republican circles which are considered the bastion of Conservatism by many Independants.

The worst enemy of Leftism, liberalism, Democrats, etc. is Conservatism. Absolutely the worst enemy they have, because Conservatism represents TRUTH, which leads to Freedom, and the persuit of happiness, etc. The Left cannot control Honest, free, and happy people, and control is what they seek.

The RINO’s are Leftist infiltrators whose primary function is to muddy the waters, dilute the perception of Conservatism, and cause reasonable doubt in the minds of otherwise sane Americans about their own perspectives.

RINO’s are another Leftist trick.

The RINO’s have to be swept out of the Republican Party even if anyone believes Conservatives should start their own Political Party, because the distortion of what Conservative truly means will never be overcome if the RINO’s are not swept out.

I for one do not believe in a Third Party for Conservatism as I believe that is precisely the move the Leftists want us to make. It would relegate Conservatism to oblivion forever allowing the Left the free rein to do as they wish.

That's fine. If enough people do likewise, by the time the obvious happens, Huckabee will have Iowa and New Hampshire and/or South Carolina under his belt and the race will be over.

At this point, going after Romney is a hobby, not a strategy.

Notice Huckabee's favorable/unfavorable among Democrats:

28% Favorable
30% Unfavorable.

Compared to Lady Palin's:

25% Favorable
62% Unfavorable

If we let the left pick our candidate like we did in 2008, guess who it's going to be.

Mitt knows he has no chance amongst the base, hence his frenetic Energizer Bunny for GOP elite support. Of course the fact that at no time since before WWII has the RNC/GOP elite been held in such contempt by the base, well, that’s Mitt for you. Out of date, out of touch.

Good people dont counterfeit FAKE LEO badges.

Romney aide’s bogus badges: Sources detail ‘illegal’ security tactic

" Boston Herald - Friday, July 20, 2007
In an apparent violation of the law, a controverisal aide to ex-Gov. Mitt Romney
created phony law enforcement badges that he and other staffers used on the campaign trail

to strong-arm reporters, avoid paying tolls and trick security guards
into giving them immediate access to campaign venues, sources told the Herald.
They (the aides) knew the badges were fake and probably illegal,”
said a presidential campaign source who asked for anonymity
because the story could damage the individual’s career.
Two additional sources confirmed that the badges - described as bright silver plates with a state seal attached -
were first created and used by Garrity while Romney was still governor."
