All this bluster and inside they are happy. This will give the government even more control over social aid given out in DC.

“I’m Catholic and I think it’s wrong,” Mr. Kaine
Said Mr. O’Malley: “I don’t understand how they can possibly do this.”
I’m sorry, were they talking about the DNC supporting abortion?

That should be “I’m a Catholic liberal politician and this is wrong”.
It amazes me that such people act as they will, support what they will regardless of the RCC’s position and teaching and then act with bluster when the Catholic Church then lives up to it’s principles.

"I'm Catholic and I think it's wrong," Mr. Kaine, who also is chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said of the church's position. "I don't think you take your ball and go home."
That is NOT what the church is saying, and this Kaine guy knows it. The article says:
The archdiocese says on its Web site, MarriageMatters DC.org, that it will continue to provide social services even if the gay marriage proposal passes, but that without contracts with the city, the resources to continue that work would be diminished.
This Protestant supports the Catholic Church's stance.

Tim Kaine and Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley criticized the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington’s response to the District’s gay marriage proposal during a joint appearance on Washington radio station WTOP.

Mr. Kaine, who also is chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said of the church's position. "I don't think you take your ball and go home." Ahhh, yes they can. Did you even hear yourself? It's 'their' ball and they can do with it whatever they want.

If any of these services are considered by the Church to be a “human right”, like the “right” to health care, how can the Church can deny people their “rights”?

Looks like the Catholics aren’t doing this to be punitive; they are doing it to avoid their charity employees being involved in these new gay laws.

This was the real reason that the separation of church and state clause was in the constitution, for the government to stay out of the Church's business.

Hey Kaine ? O’Malley ? you have no business telling the Church ( or for that matter GOD himself ) what to do.
