The IPCC cherry picked sections from 2,500 scientific papers. Many who wrote these papers complained they were quoted out of context and without permission. I'll stick with the 31,000 scientist who signed a petition refuting the IPCC.

Something you might want to keep in mind, however: You don't know that the hacker/leaker released everything he had. Destroying the data might not help, and just might lead to criminal charges being sought, especially if the hacker has more than he's shown so far.
