“What is this? France?”

Not even France is as bad as what we have become.

...but what about those who never had a job, who don’t want a job, can’t spell job. What about those needy Americans, we must make an exception, to send them some of Odumbo’s stash.......

In PA, it’s called “partials”. Probably every state already does this. If you’re not working full time you can get reduced unemployment compensation under certain conditions.

who don’t want a job

This is exactly what THE UNIONS DO!

I have a neighbor who used to "work" for JEEP. He was home most of the time at full pay so union members with less seniority would get the hours. They called it "reverse".

I won't ever buy a union made item again. Their politics have destroyed any good they ever did. I'm sure I'm paying for his "bailout" retirement benefits...

I had to read that twice, to make sure I wasn’t interpreting it wrong.

Good grief. (And it just figures that McCain would be looking at it!)

NC does not.
What a silly idea.

A bill sponsored by Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.) would give unemployment compensation to employees who accept a reduced work schedule to allow their companies to avert layoffs or to hire more employees.

At its logical conclusion, we'd have "full employment", but everyone would be home on the government dole. Only two little problems; no actual goods would be produced by companies with non-working workers, remaining companies with workers who work would be taxed out of existence, producing more non-working "workers". Great way to kill an economy.

I feel the same. Looking for the Union Label is now just to find those items I don’t want to buy. It would be nice to have a list of American made items that don’t involve union labor.

Senate Democrats crafting a job creation bill are considering a proposal to give money to workers who cut their hours in order to avoid layoffs.

Businesses might better just lay them off. Unemployment insurance will have to go up, or the democrats will have to steal other peoples money from somewhere else.

The American tax slaves are already making their bricks without straw. Add welfare death care and cap and tax to all this, and we'll be a third world country overnight. No one will be able to eat (Except for the politicians. They'll still have their jets, mansions, Delmonico steaks and fine wines.)

This sure sounds like a stupid idea to me. Paying people not to work.Yeah that will get us out of debt.

Jack Reed, the Senator from RI. The state that is second only to Michigan in unemployment. He has done a really good job for his state, sarcasm,. Now let’s see if he can screw the rest of the country.

I have a better idea (from France)......change a full work-week to 30 hours rather than 40.

Overnight, you will have massive employment gains on paper......in reality, you turned your economy into a daycare center.

You captured the essence of the European workplace perfectly. LOL, excellent.

Yep. It's like donating to the DNC. I don't buy union either. It's getting to the point where buying anything that says "Made in the U.S.A." is a national security threat.
