I believe Florida still has a GOP legislature and has had one since the Reagan era.
Oh I stand corrected then I don’t live there but the other day some freepers said that was the case when the issue of red/blue states came up.
Thanks you nailed me :)
AZ is still a red state
people should keep in mind,
that under Waxman’s cap and trade,
California benefits
Here in WI you can’t drive through any small town now that doesn’t sport a Supera Tiendra catering to illegals, cigarettes are on the order of $6.00 a pack (except at the back door of the Supera Tiendra where cigs that oddly carry no tax stamp can be bought if your name happens to be Sanchez, then they’re about $2.50) If I tried that I’d be cooling my heels in jail, but with illegals mixed with companies willing to hire them mixed with progressives giving your shirt away at every step a little black market activity like that is completely overlooked - as long as you’re hispanic that is. We spend on the order of 7 times as much per capita as CA does and we are being taxed into dust to do it. What a mess!
“God Bless Texas.
No state income tax, general business-friendly policies, reasonable property values ... the country would be better off if every state followed the example set by TX.”
SnakeDoc
I like Texas, my wife is from Dallas. What are they doing about their huge illegal alien problem lately? Do they have the sack to deport people and shut down businesses that employ illegals?
Curious. My wife has talked about moving back (we live in Massachusetts).. And yes, I know the 2 states couldn’t be more different.
I got out of CA three years ago and I am in Florida now. Better, but not good enough. Do you have a list on the best places to live ;)
Thanks for the post, this one and for a lot of other good ones you post.
Your welcome. I don’t know if I would go by a list though there are plenty of them out there you would have to consider who is writing that list and what they are basing it on. I would say if you can what ever state you ultimately choose live as far out in the country as you can and try to be as self sufficient as possible.
LOL Thank-you :)
I know not to count on a list. I was just kidding. Our country is such a mess. I am near family here in Florida so things are much better than they were when I was in CA. My Mom is from Texas and if we could, we would both move there and pick a place out in the country. My Dad doesn’t want to move. So for now, Florida is home.
ND has oil revenue going for it, if they let Bakken expand.
Florida was ruined by the New Yorkers and other easterners who retired there, bringing their stupid liberalism with them. Arizona and Nevada were ruined by liberals fleeing the mess they left in California.
So, as you sing the siren’s song to come to Texas you are only inviting the same.
Don’t forget to tell everyone how hot it is, how big the rattlesnakes and tarantulas are, how the brown recluse spider is everywhere, how long the droughts last only to be followed by floods, how ugly the women are, how expensive the booze and cigarettes are, how the cops have speed traps everywhere, how you can’t go out for a neighborhood walk without getting shot by gangs of illegals, how the KKK is starting up again, how all the high tech jobs are being replaced by jobs done by SEIU members, how the Cowboys of Tom Landry and Tex Schram were ruined by Arkansas hillbillies and the list goes on and on.
I am sure others can add to my list of why no one should consider moving to Texas.
All seem to have extremely lax welfare rules.....hmmmmmmm
Oh yeah, and the cowboys, the real ones, will spit tobacco on your shoes.
Whoo-hoo! We’re number two!
The Arizona economy — and tax structure — were “designed” around growth. As long as all those midwesterners and Californians were coming in to build houses here, we were fine. Local towns would balance their budgets on the $15K “impact fees” that builders had to pay for the privilege of putting up a house.
No construction, no impact fees, no balanced budgets. Not to mention how tourism looks these days.
K-12 education is surviving on the “stimulus funds”, but the universities are seeing cutbacks. Road construction, however, still continues like crazy.
I can’t believe that the People’s Republic of Hawaii where I live insn’t on the list!
Thank the Lord for the rural conservative “T” in Pennsylvania and their representatives in the State Senate. Were it not for them Fast Eddie would have had us on this list, I’m sure.
Thank god for the super majority. Without that we would really be up the creek with sky high taxes. This state is such a mess.
It’s a bad thing to have McCain as your senior senator?
