here is an article from
“Ethanol Producer Magazine’ Sept 09
that seems to contradict the Original post.
someone has to be lying.
The University of Tennessee has contracted with 38 farmers to grow 1,901 acres of switchgrass for its incentive program as part of its partnership with DuPont-Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC. This is the second growing season in the program 12 farmers participated last season. ..snip...

Lot's of idiots.
...but it will be too late. China will be sitting pretty atop the world's largest fossil fuel reserves. Americans will be sitting around hoping the wind keeps blowing.
Welcome to the obamanation we call home.
Fort Hood Killer Reportedly Chose "Cop Killer" Handgun (More Brady baloney)
Fort Hood Could Be Obamas Katrina This attack should be the Katrina for political correctness. The announcement after the "shout out" is one more incredible example of Obama blowing it without a teleprompter.
Some noteworthy articles about politics, foreign or military affairs, IMHO, FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.
No, the key point is that regardless of what they use, the thing is essentially a joke!
Also not switch grass.
IIRC, it was at about this time that some Tennessean was trying to make ethanol from kudzu. If they had to spend tax money then maybe it should have been on that.
I just love it when a plan starts coming together.
Instead of all this high techness why don’t they make it legal to run a still? In fact, they should insist on it. Stop chasing people down for moonshine and make it a real cottage industry.
Then everyone would be complaining that we’re burning up all our moonshine in our cars. ;’)
Gore will figure out some way to make even more money off the kudzu-ethanol guys, even though he doesn’t actually do any work himself.
In the 1980s a researcher (seems like it was a NASA grant) discovered the kudzu makes an excellent biomass for ethanol production. Imagine, everyone bringing in kudzu they harvest by hand throughout Mississippi and Alabama alone, getting paid by the pound for it...
Thanks for the ping!
what are you talking about?
it works
250,000 gallons from cellulose
