I think the decision was made when he heard that Obama was going to Walter Reed (first time since he's been in office) and after hearing that horrendous "shout out" comment.

I think President Bush was afraid no one would go at all. If you notice, we still haven't seen Biden or Gates there either.

Obama's trip was on the agenda before the shooting according to Baghdad Bob Gibbs, who is a well known liar.

Before I believe this, I require proof. I had seen no announcement or discussion about this. And by the way, this trip to Walter Reed will be the first he's made since January.

For all the gripes we had about some of the policies of the Bush administration, when it comes to caring for the Military and the American people at times of crisis President Bush put those people first and his personal agenda aside.
He has just made this jerk in the WH look really bad...Way to go Dubya!
We wish you and Larua were still in the WH for many reasons. We would still argue with you but when it came to class and cheering America rather than all the condemnation of this WH, you are seconded only by Reagan.

When it comes to our Troops, President Bush wears his heart on his sleeve and and his Patriotism like a crown. No one sees it because he does not flaunt it but it has always been there and our troops have always felt it.
I don’t want obama to go to Fort Hood. Everyone knows he does not really want to and it would be purely for the sake of looking presidential when it simply is impossible for him to do so. He is as phony a patriot as he is hollow as a man. He just can not pull it off.
