KILLEEN, Texas (AP) - An apartment complex manager says the man accused of opening fire at Fort Hood, Texas recently had a religious bumper sticker torn off his car.

The manager, John Thompson, says a fellow soldier allegedly keyed Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan's car and ripped up the bumper sticker. Thompson says the soldier had been to Iraq and was upset to learn Hasan was Muslim.

Thompson, who manages the Killeen, Texas complex where Hasan lives, says the bumper sticker read: "Allah is Love." In Arabic, Allah means God.

Not to the Malaysians. They are prohibiting the use of the word Allah for God in the Christian Bibles in that country.

They write Christian Bibles for Malaysia in Arabic? Seems odd. Malaysians, even Muslim ones, don't regularly speak Arabic, anymore than Pre 60s Catholics spoke Latin, or Eastern Orthodox Christians speak Greek in everyday life. According to the CIA Malysians speak: "Bahasa Malaysia (official), English, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka, Hainan, Foochow), Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Panjabi, Thai". So why would they need "AllaH". (about 60% of them are Muslim, and probably read/memorize the Koran in Arabic, but the Christians wouldn't know Arabic anyway).

It's a PC trick..."allah" is their god, but s/he is NOT our God.

It's a language thing. They use the word "allah" when speaking of other Gods, like Baal, or the various Hindu dieties, as well.

That's not to say that their allah is the same as anyone else's God, even if old Mo said he is.

More likely their "allah" is the "Fallen Angel".

Good post; should me a mandatory preface to every newspaper article on the subject...as well as a disclaimer to every media interview!

You might want to check this out from Happygrl and add it to your collection:

Just heard on Dennis Prager show that Hasan made a presentation at Walter Reed Hospital on PTSS where he advocated converting to Islam and that those who would not should be beheaded.

This info was provided by Congressman David Drier.

A number of doctors there reported it up the chain of command and met in the hallway at the time, deeply concerned.

In Arabic, Allah means God.

In English, Allah means Satan.

I read a post yesterday on an article about landing an airplane and got a landing gear warning. F4 said that you could tell if you land with the wheels up because you had to fire up the after burner to taxi. The guys at the range last night got a kick out of that.

Whatever the etymology, Allah is a term used by many Christians not only in the Middle East but also in Southeast Asia. Allah is in their Bible. It is the Muslims who refuse to acknowledge this, as we can see from Malaysian's government raid of Christian Bibles.

Christian Post

Many Christian terms, concepts, or practices are also adopted from other religion or beliefs; particularly beliefs of European's tribes. We imputed new meanings to those words that fit to Christian beliefs.

In a decade, people will be changing “Free Nadal!”

Going to be hard to free him from the grave. Unless the One grants him clemency or pardons his ash, it's the Big Needle for him. Sooner rather than later.

Assuming he survives.

Heard on WBAP Dallas that they have moved his comatose ash to Brooke Army Medical Center on Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio. Too bad, they'll just have to move him back for the trial, which likely will not be lengthy. A few hundred witlessness pointing to the accused and saying, he's the one, tends to make for a very difficult defense.

They seem more concerned with the outrage over the assassinations than the assassination of a dozen soldiers.

The story is a bit confusing. It's possible that the Bibles used the same Malay word for God/Allah as their versions of the Koran, and the Muzzies, as is their wont, took offense at that. Or they transliterated “Allah” (which is of course a transliteration from whatever it looks like in Arabic into the English sounds) to Malay characters so as to get the same sound, more or less. I'd bet on the former. The Muzzies are such idiots.

The use of “Allah” as the term for “God” is widespread in the Christian world, as you said. I remember being surprised that even the Georgians, who’ve been Christian for a thousand years, use the word.

In modified form, “Allah” also exists in other languages as a nonreligious term, such as the Spanish “Ole!” which is a legacy from the Muslim occupation of Spain.

Was he court martialed?

Why not?

The manager seems to know specifically who it was since he claims to know the “keyer’s” past.

I don't quite get your point.

Every single day we use the word "God" which is a Germanic term that goes all the way back to proto-Indo-European paganism. Unless we are prepared to use the word "Yahweh" exclusively in daily conversation, we are going to be using pagan terminology when we are talking about God. The New Testament was written in Greek and uses the word "Theos," which is...you guessed it, derived from paganism. You get that, right?

On that basis, the word "Allah"--which is a term derived from paganism just as the word "God" is--is perfectly acceptable for Christians.

And please keep in mind that the Aramaic word for "God"--a.k.a. the term that Jesus used every day--is Elaha, a close Semitic etymological relative of "Allah."
