Texas Governor Perry has ordered the Texas Flag to be flown at half-staff until Sunday -- in honor of the victims at Fort Hood.

Orders or no orders, both my flags (US & TX) are at half-staff, and will remain there as long as either one is authorized to be so displayed.

Can you imagine how insulting to our U.S. troops it would be for Texans to lower only the TX flag -- and not the U.S. Flag?

(FWIW, I visited our regional TXDOT office today and they have both at half-staff.)

I guess we FReepers will have to demonstrate courtesy and leadership -- since Øbozo seem capable of neither.

Well, in point of fact, this would come from either the base commander - typically a three or four star General - or the Army Chief of Staff, the highest ranking uniformed member of the USA. The president would be the guy to order all the flags to half-staff/half-mast.
