it was probably an after thought of whoever is feeding the teleprompter.
No Rush today...Mark Steyn is filling in. Should be good.
“His words, which came out of his mind, show a shocking focus on himself and his image;...”
Notice that he reminds us that he’s “Commander-in-Chief.”
too true ....
Who is advising him? <-— good question by writer
Typical socialists? no empathy and heavy handed... social graces?
Obama’s advisors are clods also, apparently, reminds me of what went on at the Senator Wellstone funeral in Minnesota.
or is it a method to intimidate us, the US masses?
Give the guy a break. He can only show as much emotion as his teleprompter tells him to!
I disagree.
This is a major tragedy. The President was informed and this tragedy should have been his first order of business.
If he would have, at least, said something about the shooting at the beginning, even a reference, I could understand.
But I was listening live (FNC on Sirius) and it was surreal how he plowed right ahead and casually made reference to the shooting at the END of his speech.
It disturbed me quite a bit.
I am a pretty objective person. But I was personally, not politically, offended. This is our Commander in Chief. These are the men and women under his command. These soldiers are the humans that the President of the United States can send to war, to die, for our freedoms. Nitpicking would be that he decided not to cancel the event. Nitpicking would be he decided to make a huge show out of flying to Texas for a photo-op (had he done that instead).
Saying he shows no authentic emotion or addresses the issue as an afterthought is outright insulting and offensive. It was the number one things on the minds of most American's last night as the nation watched in horror. It was not the number one thing on the mind of our president.
Notice that he reminds us that hes Commander-in-Chief.
Obama: “I am the Commander-In-Chief and am firmly in charge, unless something bad happens, then it’s Bush’s fault and I have nothing to do with it.”
Uh huh.

Thanks Uncle. I’m cubicle bound so wouldn’t be able to listen anyway- and that’s a good thing.
At least we will have Obama’s callousness archived when the few members of the press who dare criticize his highness find their articles, and possibly their jobs, scrubbed.
Maybe the same people who tell his wife her taste in clothing is impeccable, when in fact..she dresses like a clown.
sw
Three things about that speech stood out to me:
1. The “shout out.” Keep it real, O-Dog.
2. Obama screwing up the honor that Joseph Medicine Crow has received. Dr. Medicine Crow, while he did serve honorably in the 103rd Infantry Division in WWII, is NOT a “Congressional Medal of Honor winner.” He has a Bronze Star (awarded only a few years ago, in fact), a Presidential Medal of Freedom, and a Congressional Gold Medal, all apparently given for a life of work as a historian of Indians in general and the Crow tribe in particular. It’s totally unsurprising to me that Odumbass would confuse that with a “Congressional Medal of Honor”—which isn’t even the Medal of Honor’s correct name, as I was reminded yesterday.
3. How many times during the speech did Obama use first-person pronouns? “We, we, we, I, I, I, me, my, mine.” He talked more about himself and how he felt and what his alleged responsibilities were than about the Soldiers at Fort Hood who were dying as he spoke!
All you have to do is contrast Obama’s performance yesterday with President Bush’s on 9/11. The liberals never forgave George W. Bush for his “pet goat moment,” they mocked him mercilessly for the way he handled himself that day even though it was completely correct. Today, dead silence on Obama’s “shout out” and “I, me, mine” speech.

He’s proving he’s not a leader, he’s just a politician - and a tone-deaf (read: radically unsuited to US values), inept one, at that.
<<
Bluto became a Republican Senator.
>>
Nope. Bluto was Ted Kennedy. Pop in the DVD and listen to the director’s commentary.
And that street language: shout out....like he was on Jay Leno or something - so low class and childish
Now, if only the stupidly self-righteous libtards can catch up to the rest of the world and realize they idolize nothing more than a common, unsophisticated narcissist.
> He knew for nearly two hours. Not time to formulate a statement? >> Thats because he has no heart or soul when it comes to American troops. He knew this along with the 10.2% unemployment numbers reported this morning would cause a ripple effect

You’re too kind, he has no heart and soul for anyone but himself.
What is that on his hat?
