Unfortunately the time between elections can be good or bad. In this case 0bama is bad. He has not one clue how to make America powerful again, nor does he have the desire to do so. All of the minorities that sold their soul to him have no idea where the prosperity came from. Obama is a buffoon.

You’re exactly right on the minority part. Most of them have been abused and used so much that they don’t know which way is up. About 0bama fixing things; he doesn’t want to fix things. He hates all America stands for and is going to do all he can to destroy her. He doesn’t give a damn about getting re-elected as long as he can do as much damage before Nov., 2012.

At this rate, we’ll be fortunate if we don’t see major turmoil before next fall.

But, America is waking up and we still have a chance at saving the Republic before we become “Balkanized” and/or enter the New World Order/One World Government.

Very tough times are ahead.

“FWIW unemployment benefits above $2400/yr are included in Federal gross wages and also taxed by most states.”

of course, given that this bill is to extend benefits to nearly 2 yrs, unemployment income would be the only income within the past year for most. Given that, I urge you to look at where the breakeven point is for the IRS on income taxes once all the credits, deductions and exemptions are taken into account. The progressiveness of the current system is absurd and getting worse... want a preview of where all this is going? have a look at california... the state is so dependent on the wealthy for revenues that it faces wild swings due to capital gains and volatile income for the wealthy. Problem is, when times are good, they spend like drunken sailors, and when times are bad, they blame the massive deficit on republicans refusal to agree to higher taxes (as if 10.55% state income tax and 8%+ sales tax is not high enough). Its a good show, you should watch it some time ;)

Free money is hard to resist. Something strange must happen to conservatives when elected to Congress. They start believing in free lunches. Congress has created two huge new entitlements: perpetual unemployment benefits and government provided down payment for a home purchase. Are there any conservatives in Congress?

"Tell me again why I should contribute to the RNC?"

Uh, because Republicans are not Democrats? So the Republicans tell us, while Newt supported the most liberal RINO in NY23! Pfft!

As a woman recently questioned regarding Obambi's giveaways in an interview, said, "Obama is giving me stuff. No, I don't know where it comes from. It comes from Obama and his stash".

All I can say is, OMG! These people are that stupid!!! They live their lives ill-informed, ignorant, and believing they are the "deserving" for past transgressions.

The last line in this woman's statement was, "It comes from Obama and his stash. Of course, if they were asked where that stash originates from, these simpletons would have NO answer.

We are looking at the end of our Republic.

The Senate voted 98-0 to extend unemployment benefits for the jobless by up to 20 weeks.

Wow! Now that is bipartisan. So what does this increase the number of weeks to? 52 weeks?

Don’t we pay unemployment throughtout our working lives so that when something happens and you have to collect you can do so. I don’t understand what is wrong with this. Basically people are just getting back the money they put into the system.

FREEPERS are the most elitist people I have ever seen. What a bunch of stuck up snobs. God forbid someone who needs help actually goes and gets it. I belive those who say they receive the unemployment more than those BS con artist who say “I am to proud” to get it...BS they are probably people who are on actual WELFARE!!!! lol.

You are being awfully nasty for being here less than a month. Sheesh most of us take a while before being rude to others. I means seriously you cannot be as perfect as your portray. All those deductions that you write off on your taxes is like being on the dole...everyone else who does not write off those deductions is supporting you!!! See how it works.

"GET A JOB and stop asking for hand-outs."
I have seen some stupid posts on FR before, But I have to say, yours is close to one of the dumbest remarks I have seen.

Try pulling your head out of your a$$ long enough to check out the condition of the job market. To "GET A JOB" there must be jobs available.

There are retailers and restaurants in my area that have actualy had a hard time getting and keeping workers. But to many people won’t take a job deemed to be “menial.” Others are not willing to work on commission. I do not feel sorry for people like that.

I did not mean to address those statemnts to anyone personally. I apologize if that is how it sounded. I was talking about the general state of affairs and the fact that MANY in America (not necessarly those who post here, who are generally good conservatives) seem unwilling to take responsibility for their success and/or failure.

That looks like a good place to be jobless with free money from the government for 2 years.

The first time I was laid off back in 95 I tried to get unemployment. I had to jump through so many hoops it didn’t even seem worth it, considering I was 18 at the time and lived with my parents. I had to have 3 interviews a week and report to the office and stuff. Do you even have to pretend you’re looking for a job anymore?
