From left: Delegate candidate Stan Clark, U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, Ken Cuccinelli (with the "McBollinelli Broom"), Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, AG Bob McDonnell, and VA Sen. Tommy Norment.
Ancedotal I know, but my daughters are fired up and ready to vote Tuesday. They are angry at the Democrats and want to voice it the only way you can at this point.
The Richmond paper includes the other two statewide races in their article this morning.
It’s a relief to learn the other two Republicans maintain their wide leads as well. Sensing their attacks on McDonnell were backfiring, the WP decided to try the same tactics anyway for it’s candidate, Steve Shannon against Ken Cuccinelli. Ads have been airing using the same fearmongering, “OMG he’s a right-wing extremist, a wing nut, and a real Catholic, not a Kennedy/Pelosi/Kerry/Biden Catholic the WP approves of.”
From the RTD: “Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling is ahead of Jody Wagner by 13 percentage points. For attorney general, Republican Ken Cuccinelli is up 14 percentage points over Steve Shannon.”
Anxious to vote on Tuesday, we moved recently so we have a new polling place. I'm excited to see who turns out to vote.
Another RTD article this morning:
T-D Poll: Republicans lead in down-ticket races
For the real poll-lovers, there are pie charts with breakdowns at the first RTD link I posted above. One chart shows northern Virginia as a toss-up: 50% Deeds, 45% McDonnell with 5% undecided. With the right turn out, we’ll even win there!
Cuccinelli, an outspoken foe of abortion and homosexual rights, leads Shannon among women, 42 percent to 37 percent.
Cuccinelli is ahead of Shannon in all age groups, though his advantage among voters 18 to 34 is within the margin of error.
Cuccinelli leads in all regions but one, Northern Virginia, where he and Shannon — both residents of Fairfax County — are statistically tied.
It’s a campaign strategy by the loser to play up a large lead, so that the leader’s supporters don’t think they need to go out and vote. That’s about all Deeds has left to make it even close. I know the Pubbie base will be fired up to vote but hope the Indies who are putting McD over the top are as equally stoked.

With the news getting out this early, it gives ACORN that much more time to marshall troops to meet the demand.
Thank you!
Must have been the biggest brain fart ever...I really couldn’t remember what it was called, even after coffee. :P
After being out today, I am happy to say that there are far more McDonnell signs out today (a bunch on the medians too). I even saw a good number of signs for Anderson (local republican running for delegate), but I’m afraid he’s going to lose. Badly.
Median...middle...sheesh, why couldn’t I remember that?! I’m getting old... /drama
