Thinking about the crash off of San Diego ten days ago, because of the (well-deserved) attention being given to the dead at Fort Hood, I looked for this thread and noticed that you live in the area.

The entire crash and aftermath seemed to disappear from the MSM reporting, probably because it did not happen in the DC/NY corridor.

Were any survivors found? Was there any attention or ceremony from high ranking military personnel or the President, himself? Of was it just another day, another crash?

There were no survivors and I don't believe any bodies have been recovered. It did pretty much disappear from the news, probably because the USCG and USMC is still investigating the crash and have nothing to release to the media.

But, yes, military aviation accidents are, sadly, par for the course. It's a dangerous job and not typically very newsworthy when accidents happen, dropping off the media radar after a couple of days or so.

On May 19, five crew members of a Navy HH-60H Seahawk helicopter were killed when their aircraft crashed in the Pacific Ocean about 15 miles south of Point Loma. The cause of that incident has not been made public.

Does the Navy have muslim pilots or air crews?

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m sure the families of the SAR and Helicopter crews are just as devastated as the families in Texas today. They are all in my prayers.

I read that the Coast Guard was out there looking for a lost dinghy sailor/rower. It makes me mad when people put themselves in deliberately hazardous situations, and then expect the Coast Guard or other rescue services to come ‘get them.’ Some skiers and hikers do it regularly, too.
