Yes, I can almost excuse him for ignoring Wilson and Hoover, since nobody much reads them anymore, for undervaluing TR, who is better known as a man of action than a man of letters, and for skipping over more recent presidents like Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan, since it’s common to assume everyone employs ghostwriters nowadays.

But to pass by Grant? That’s plain inexusable. Unless he is aware of the Mark Twain controversy, which I doubt.
