I think this could be a matter of perspective. One could say, even though one was married to a spouse that did nothing, that one was “single-handedly” bringing up a child. Still, every shred of evidence is important in disproving zero’s eligibility.

This is one reason I have very little faith in the accuracy of any WND story...

What does the verb "had" mean in this context?

The verb "to have" can mean "to stand in a certain relationship to", which may or may not have anything to do with giving birth.

I read that as Barack remembers when Dunham, who was very young and a single parent, was going to school and raising him alone. He wouldn't remember being born.

But what Michelle DID say is: “she was very young and very single when she had him.” In plain, ordinary, everyday American English “had” = “birthed.”

It’s hard to spin that into ‘when she raised him,’ if the official line is that BHO,Sr. abandoned them when Jr was 2 years old.
