I have already given you 2 links with lists of features that Apple stole from other operating systems. You just can't see so good.
“You couldn't even get the “Start your copiers” statement right.”
The “start your copiers” statement is merely another way of Steve Jobs saying the same thing he's been saying since he took Microsoft to court for “copying” from Apple decades ago..and LOST.
There was nothing new or different about that particular occasion he said it. It was simply variation of the same meme. A different way of saying the same thing. Nothing new to see here. Move along.
And who's fault is that?
Sure wasn't Gate's fault.
All Gates did was try and make Kildall very rich by sending IBM to Kildall, even though IBM had come to Gates for an operating system to start off with.
Kildall had the deal in his hands. Gates had no operating system at the time, yet Kildall blew it.
Again, let's not forget that when it came down to it, Paterson managed to get his 16 bit DOS(which is what IBM wanted, 16 bit) out the door, before Kildall did.
“Still none of this has to do with the fact that DOS didn't become dominant through technical merits, but through pricing and the power of IBM behind it.”
DOS won against the “superior” CP/M because Kildall priced CP/M high. The thing is, MS DOS was good enough for most PC users, who didn't see enough difference between MS DOS and CP/M to warrant paying a higher price for CP/M.
Look, in this life everyone is free to make business screw ups and pay the price for it, if they want.
Everything you just wrote supports my contention that DOS did not win on technical superiority, but on business reasons.
There's a running theme behind Microsoft products, "good enough." Not good, not excellent, just enough to get out there in the market and not have too many people dump them entirely. You're still agreeing with me.
Do you realize both of your links pointed to the same page? In the article he mentions Spotlight as coming from Vista, yet admits Apple was the first to market with it when at the time it was a rumored feature of the upcoming Longhorn system (it wasn't even Vista yet). And the "Leopard Feature Rundown" is a list of some of Leopard's features, not a list of things Leopard took from Vista.
Oh wait, there's one thing, adding "to-do" to Mail. Yes, Outlook had that before. Wow.
The start your copiers statement is merely another way of Steve Jobs saying the same thing
No, "Redmond, start your photocopiers" as you put it in quotes referring to the launch of Leopard was for a specific event, the launch of Tiger.
They didn't.
I will just re-post the links:

They are not even from the same site, same author, or same outfit, let aone the same place.
I will repeat what I said before, windows 7 is as good if not better than Snow Leopard, and certainly much more secure. Heck, even Vista is more secure than OSX. Windows 7 removes the need to buy an overpriced mac, unless you like throwing money away or are a fanatical Appplebot. But hey, each to his own.
” Not good, not excellent, “
I'd say Windows 7 is anexcellent OS. And it’;s not just me. Practically everyone who;s been easing this superb OS for the past year, rates it top notch.
Its not surprising Apple has run into a panic and trotted out a laughable ad, which only made them look silly, panicky and silly. They have good reason to be worried at the sheer quality of Windows 7.
Rob Enderle:
How Microsoft blindsided vulnerable Apple with Windows 7

“You're still agreeing with me.”
I am yet to agree with you on a single thing. I have consistently pointed out flaws in your thinking, and your flying fast and lose with the facts as they pertain to how and when CP/M was offered on the IBM PC, when you tried to claim MS DOS was offered instead of CP/M on the IBM PC. They were both offered. MS DOS won because consumers preferred MS OS. Get used to it.
What you posted:
Apple Mac OS X Leopard Preview: Whos the Copycat Now?Did you even look to make sure you didn't screw up before you refuted my claim? Didn't think so.

But let's see from your new site...
Wrong!
Your post doesn't even come close to supporting that assertion.
Yet no evidence or argument to support that claim. I'm not surprised.
I can’t believe you actually quoted Enderle, the Microsoft shill. This guy has been wrong so many times it’s pathetic.
The biggest long-term problem with moving to an Apple platform is that the company is in decline.” Rob Enderle, October 2003.
Let’s see, since then the stock has gone from about 20 to 200, with a stock split. Big decline there, Bob.
“The expectation on the iPod is that HP’s version will probably outsell Apple’s version relatively quickly.” Rob Enderle, August 2004.
Where’s that HP iPod now? Oh yeah, they quit making it years ago.
“quarter, in particular, should be ugly for Apple” Rob Enderle, August 2005
It was an excellent quater with massive growth.
“the iPhone could be more of a drag on earnings than a help ... but this year, compared to last, will be really nasty for the company” - Rob Enderle, January 2007
I believe that was a very good year for Apple, with them selling more iPhones than they anticipated and making massive profits.
“The 4th quarter will be Apples hardest since the first iPod Christmas, and next year will be vastly harder still.” - Rob Enderle, September 2006
Again, in the face of massive profits and growth, and an even better year in 2007.
You also quote Paul Thurrott earlier. He’s good with Windows, bad with Macs.
“The Mac market is ending.” - Paul Thurrott, March 2004
Yeah?
I have read a heck of a lot more anti-Microsoft articles from Rob Enderle than pro-Microsoft ones. He is merely an analyst. I know you Applebots like to shoot the messenger, whenever someone ddoesn't think Steve Jobs is The Messiah, but that won't make the message that Windows 7 is simply superb, go away will it?
Plus, being an Apple shill hasn't stopped YOU from constantly spewing pro-Apple propaganda/anti-Microsoft FUD daily on Freerepublic has it?
“Lets see, since then the stock has gone from about 20 to 200, with a stock split. Big decline there, Bob.”
Oh puleeze!
He is an analyst. That doesn't mean he is 100% right all the time or has crystal ball into the future. No one is. He is going to be right a lot of the times, and there will be times he is not right as well.
Not to mention, since 2003, Apple stock has had periods when the stock price collapsed by up to 40% or more(between August 2008 and January 2009 for example, Apple stock crashed by over 50%), before climbing up again. You can't take the stock price today, and then claim that Apple stock has gone up every month since 2003. It hasn't.
Plus Enderle has written plenty of articles shilling for Apple.
Same thing applies to the rest of your quotes from Ron Enderle.
“You also quote Paul Thurrott earlier. Hes good with Windows, bad with Macs.
The Mac market is ending. - Paul Thurrott, March 2004”
That's it?
One uncomplimentary quote about Apple?
What about all the uncomplimentary quotes about Windows from Paul Thurrott, and the deluge of pro-Apple/OSX quotes?
Enderle is famous for being wrong about Apple, usually by his negative predictions not coming true. He has been doom and gloom about Apple for a long time, and history has solidly proven him wrong. What I posted was just a small sample.
between August 2008 and January 2009 for example, Apple stock crashed by over 50%
That was part of the general crash. Sales and profits remained good.
What about all the uncomplimentary quotes about Windows from Paul Thurrott
Paul Thurrott is a very good software reviewer, and fairly knowledgeable about Windows. He is not an "analyst" like Enderle is. He stepped out of his area of expertise for that comment.
