Rubbish. If Pawlenty is focused solely on Minnesota, then he is collected money for his Freedom First PAC under false pretenses. To wit:

Our values and principles are being tested. What we believe as conservatives is being tested. The values and principles of our country – which I believe are conservative – are being tested. But expressing our concern is not enough. We need to organize, mobilize and fight back.

This organization is dedicated to putting freedom first again in America. By helping candidates and translating our ideas into policies that everyone can relate to and support, we can turn back the growth of Washington and renew the promise of freedom.

What a fraud.

Didn’t you argue just above he should only concern himself with his state’s business? He’s clearly according to that article not minding his own state’s business by going to Iowa on behalf of their candidates.

Pawlenty has been quite free with his time and opinion on positions and candidates not related to his state in the past. You support him. Fine. Just don’t expect Freepers to ignore his obvious desire to run for the presidency given his associations, hires, and scheduled events lately. And do not expect we won’t call him out for a lie. The lie here that he doesn’t know the details about a race being covered in national media.

He doesn’t wish to take a stand that would brand him with the establishment or with conservatives. I prefer people who do. Even Newt. At least he was willing to least people know just what side he is on.

Interesting. Did you read the link.

“Pawlenty has made no secret of the fact that he is putting together the pieces of a 2012 political operation”

Pawlenty is listening to McCain - what a loser.

Go Hoffman, Go Sarah

oh and Obama is an Usurper.

Second verse, same as the first.

This little NY race is turning out to be an extremely useful litmus test.

Pawlenty is a tool - he doesn’t appeal to me at all. He would go down in flames as the GOP nominee in 2012.

Why is the NRA backing a RINO?

Heston would have thought otherwise I think.

Exactly. This is one of those with us or against us moments. Anyone who is not with conservatives on this, I will presume to be against us.

The dynamics have changed. I told everyone who would listen that putting a RINO up against Obama was going to be a sure loss. Instead, I was told time and time again that only a well known name like the RINOs could possibly beat the boy marxist (or Hillary).

I, like millions of other conservatives, refused to vote for McCain out of principle, while even his supposed moderate allies - David Brooks, David Frum, Michael Smerconish, Colin Powell, etc etc (all the dumbf*cks that told us we need a moderate candidate to win) either heaped praises on Obama or actively supported him.

Hey GOP: BUY A DAMN CLUE

...while the National Rifle Association and the centrist Republican Main Street Partnership are backing Scozzafava.

Pawlenty has failed this first big test and I'll not give him another chance. But why in the hell is the NRA backing Scozzafava? That really disturbs me and gives me pause on whether to renew our membership.

I agree. I don't like it when they endorse people from other states...none of their business.

I don't think they should be allowed to give each other campaign donations! That's not what I want my $$$ used for. They always support their buddies, the incumbents and that's part of why we're in the mess we're in.

It's all about them!

Palin is also unemployed. She quit.

Still repeating liberal subjective talking points, I see.

Unlike Palin, Pawlenty is actually doing his job, which doesn't include following the special elections in districts that AREN'T in Minnesota.

Unlike Palin, Pawlenty has clear presidential ambitions.
He's running for President, and since announcing he's not seeking a 3rd term, has taken the usual steps to prepare.
He was busy helping McCain during the campaign and is running the GOP Governor's chair - in addition to campaigning for McDonnell in VA - but apparently shouldn't let a Congressional race interfere with his gubernatorial duties? C'mon now ODH.

Please post a link to the Pawlenty in 2012 for President announcement. Or, can you find a Pawlenty for President Exploratory committee announcement, champ?

ODH, you know what we're talking about.
He's going through the usual motions to run for President - the PAC, the campaigning on behalf of McDonnell and Christie (but again, endorsing a Congressional candidate interferes with his job), giving policy statements, etc.

"Still repeating liberal subjective talking points, I see.

You call them talking points, most other people call them facts. She's no longer the governor. Her term didn't expire. She's not dead, and she didn't get fired. In middle America, we call that quitting. Facts are stubborn things.

He's running for President, and since announcing he's not seeking a 3rd term, has taken the usual steps to prepare."

Gee. What a novel idea; Actually finishing the job you were elected to do. We used to call that finishing what you started. If you're a Sarah Palin sycophant, it's seems like it's a bad thing. Yep, no blind idol worship there. None.

Jeez people, read a little between the lines here.

Pawlenty is a sitting GOP Governor and a GOP Presidential hopeful. There is ONE Congressional race this fall, and when asked if he supports the GOP Candidate and he punts the question.

That is a pretty clear rebuke of the GOP candidate and a tacit endorsement of the challenger. He’s not involved in this in any direct way, and a “non-answer” is about as good as a 3rd party challenger can expect to get.
