I was deployed on a MAB and 2 MAU’s. :)
Republicans told the president way before this that the russians were putting nukes in Cuba but he wouldn’t do anything about it. Almost got us all killed.
“I owe him a beer”
Lets hope he doens’t hold out for a steak! Seems I dont know enough Old Corps terms like I thought!!
Crow is cheap, too... :)
I’m not enjoying mine too much right now...(sigh)
Hey. I had to do an imaginary eat my hat, when I made a statement Scott would not have a chance at taking the whale’s seat.
No apology needed - just glad I didn’t get nuked
They don’t believe my Vietnam story too lol:

That's not why....We installed missiles in Turkey, pointed right down the Soviets throat.
What would you do?
Did we not install the big guns in Turkey first, pointed right at the head of the Soviets?
If I drive in front of your home and set up some big guns pointed at your windows, would you not do the same to my home?
I'm not defending the Commies, but if you threaten my home, I'm going to be threatening yours too.
Sounds like what Smedley Butler was telling us about Japan in his book “War is a Racket” 1935:
“The Pacific is a great big ocean. We have a tremendous coastline on the Pacific. Will the maneuvers be off the coast, two or three hundred miles? Oh, no. The maneuvers will be two thousand, yes, perhaps even thirty-five hundred miles, off the coast.
The Japanese, a proud people, of course will be pleased beyond expression to see the united States fleet so close to Nippon’s shores. Even as pleased as would be the residents of California were they to dimly discern through the morning mist, the Japanese fleet playing at war games off Los Angeles.”
Did we not install the big guns in Turkey *first*, pointed right at the head of the Soviets?
You put a gun to the head of my family, I’m going to do the same to yours pal.
Most have no idea how dangerous, how close this planet was to a major nuclear exchange. Politics aside, John Kennedy went head to head with the Soviets, and made some of the hardest decisions ever made by *any* president during that period of the Cuban missile event.
Thanks for making my point
