If Bush and the Republican Congress stuck to conservative principles, we wouldn't have a mess we are in today.

“WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THESE Repubs???

Where have they been for the last 9 months? in a drug-induced coma? in solitary confinement? in North Korea? “

Are they even alive? No evidence of it.

ATTENTION CONSERVATIVES Tea partiers, 9/12 marchers, pro-lifers,defense of marriage; 2nd amendment, anti ObamaCare;anti-amnesty. These are the terms under which we permit solid conservatives to earn our support:

(1) Your conservative group holds an official position within the campaign;

(2) Your group’s issue is affirmed in the candidate’s platform;

(3) Your group is in attendance at all campaign strategy meetings;

(4) Your group holds a paid job in the campaign;

(5) Your group holds a position in the winning candidate’s elective office.

Good list.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Since the time I authored the post I am replying to, two media commentators have tried to answer this question (which has been asked so often on FR it deserves its own thread). One of them was Rush.
BOTH men (Rush & one whose name escapes me at the moment) both said, in effect, “They don’t see it. They live in a bubble; they read NYT, WaPo -— if it’s not there, they miss it. THEY DON’T SEE IT!”
This is not a rhetorical question. It must be asked of and answered by every Repub and Independent representative in Congress.
Rush in the ONLY conservative leader pounding the drum rhythmically & persistently with the message:
Obama hates America
What is happening is not by accident; it is by design.
The PLAN is to destroy America.
” We are fighting a fascist, socialist-—whatever you want to call it-—TAKEOVER and REMAKING of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA,” Rush; Sept 17, 2009.
And just recently-—the same line I’ve been pounding to shut up the race-baiting-—Rush said, “Black isn’t the color we have a problem with; RED is the color we have a problem with.”
Don’t get me wrong; Beck is a hero & is inflicting much damage. Where would we be without him, but Rush, more than anyone knows the value of the “broken-record method.” He says the above every day & backs it up with FACTS.
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Rush’ revolutionary acts are making some Repubs uncomfortable. Tony Blankley just said so in the recent Accuracy in Media event. Some Repubs question the wisdom of uttering such harsh rhetoric. He has now begun to lean toward the “harsher” rhetoric. Blankley & these Repubs still don’t get it.
Rush is factually describing, day by day, what is happening to our country and ascribing the correct motives to all the perps.
We can’t let Repubs act like this is just business as usual in Washington-—and spew out the deranged thought that the Dems won; we may not like it, but it’s their turn; they have a majority;we are doing what we can”
Is it possible that Rush is correct?-—That most Repubs just don’t see it?
Personally, I find the comment incredulous, but like I said-— since the time I made the post, 2 commentators I respect both gave the same answer.
What do you think?
How do we get their heads out of the sand?
How do we force them to see the obvious?
And then...How do we get them to speak out?
“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
Why is smoking out the Repubs so important? Because I think even many Dems & Independents are getting squeamish. Is THIS what they voted for? Not to mention the utter disgust they must be feeling to see their party turning into a crime syndicate. I don’t think so, but until the Repubs start screaming, the mod Dems & Independents can’t utter a peep.
