Suppose they tried for years to get this drug legalizedIt was legal before the Prohibition era. I don't care about the medicinal value. I care about the Constitutional value of adhering to the document even when it reaches conclusions you don't personally like.

If the scenario I laid out actually happened then what should the response of the federal government be?

You are able to dismiss any evidence contrary to your assertions with a simple wave of your hand and the words leftist propaganda. That must really simplify things for you. I wouldn't say simplify is the right word. Clarify is better. If some conservatives realized they were being duped into supporting a leftist cause then it would be clear to them that legalizing pot isn't a constitutional OR a medical issue.
