You guys have a lot of history with those "terrorists" in northern Iraq. After what, almost 100 years the vendetta against the Kurds continues. I wish for all countries to live in peace. But hatred continues. Further living in peace is not possible with Islam. As far as looking out for yourself, I don't think Turkey is doing very well. I am sorry that the people of Turkey have decided to give up their freedom for the rule of Mullahs. I think freedom and reason are more important than the minor emotional exultation that comes from embracing hate and evil. But thats just me.
Turkey is becoming credible in its neighborhood, and yes, it is creating free trade zones with all countries to its north, east and south.
Why is Turkey just now becoming credible in its "neighborhood"? Turkey has had a significant history on the world stage and is powerful modern nation that dominates the area. I just don't get that comment. Regardless, being a powerful modern state won't last under Islamic rule. Hope those countries you will open trade with have something to trade for. IMHO they mostly export misery and death.
Your stupid status quo with Iran sucks. Your policies in the middle east suck. Well get your shit together for you.
I agree that our policies in the middle east suck. Though we may have different ideas about how to correct them. If you folks took care of Iran for us that would be great. The folks in DC will not do it and I think they will do everything in their power to stop you. DC has become quite a nest of vipers. Perhaps it has always been so, but there was a time when America could be counted upon and stood with her allies and I believe that time will come again. I will do what I can to make it so.
I never mentioned letting the Turks into the EU. Why is that addressed to me? Learn to read.
>> Gülen was tried in absentia in 2000
This while he was holed up in the USA. We have extradition treaties. What do you think that was about?
Really, really puzzling. I begin to understand better why you suspect what you do. I'll keep in mind the info you provided and watch the developments more closely.
Well, I thank you for pinging me to this spot.
Being conservative can be good. Being foolish is, well, stupid...
Turkey is positioning itself to be on the losing side in the next World War.
Thanks for the ping, but I think she is really stretching here. Where does she see the Turkish empire? She certainly failed -— in fact, has not tried -— to make her argument.
Free trade agreements, industrial zones, etc. It is a stretch, but what it means is that people are trying to make sense of the situation as it’s evolving.
