Its just that race and “racism” have been used a club so long and so hard that we cringe a bit whenever someone brings it up. Its also a matter of trying not to give the enemy ammunition.
Then there is the free will angle - individuals commit crimes, not races. The crime is equally bad no matter the race of criminal.
Finally, most of us don’t like the concept of “thought crime” no matter who it is used against. What the criminal thought while committing a crime is irrelevant.

Yes, but individuals do not exist in a vacuum. Man is a social animal, and the culture a person inhabits directly influences his or her actions. For example, it's true that individual Muslims made the decision to participate in the 9/11 attacks. Is it therefore wrong to infer that there is something in Muslim culture that makes it more likely that Muslims will contemplate or commit acts of violent terrorism? I think that only a fool would deny this. Yet if you deny it publicly, you'll be called a racist.
Likewise with crime. FBI statistics1 clearly show that black Americans commit more murders each year than do white Americans (35.2% vs. 33.5%) -- and that's using the FBI's politically correct definition of "white". (The FBI counts Mexicans, Central Americans, Arabs, and members of other non-African ethnic groups as "white".) Yet even with statistics from the FBI to back you up, a claim that "blacks commit more murders than whites" will get you called a racist. A racist -- just for pointing out the truth!
Well, I'm tired of playing pretend when it comes to race in America. The only way we are ever going to get past this -- short of breaking up the country into ethnic homelands -- is to take the bull by the horns and address the questions of race in an honest fashion. Why are Asian and Euro neighborhoods safer than Black and Hispanic neighborhoods of equal economic status? Why did New Orleans descend into anarchy after Katrina, while equally-devastated Iowa did not after its own floods? Why are GPAs, graduation rates, and IQ test scores higher among Asians and Euros than among Blacks and Hispanics of equal economic status? The differences exist -- the only question is what causes them. Yet we are not even permitted to ask!
Well, I'm asking. And if you're honest, you'll admit that you've wondered too -- no matter what color you may be.

What a great result for all the efforts on the part of white taxpaying citizens.
However, I'd argue that it is their culture (such as it is...), not their race, that is relevant. I have worked for black managers, with black co-workers, soldiered with black soldiers under the command of black officers and NCOs. They were, like whites, a mixed bunch, no better or worse than whites and some of them (like my manager) were extraordinary.
My family also has a long association with blacks. We're Low-Country Southerners and with our various changes in fortune we've employed them and worked along side them. A black maid had a fair part in bringing me up when I was child. I would argue that, regardless of their economic standing, the blacks associated with my family did not share a culture in common with the criminals in this article.
I suspect that whites raised in such a "culture" (not poseurs which are more common) would be equally bad. What we really need is to suppress the culture that creates and enables the monsters. I'm not exactly certain how this can be done. Most the methods envisioned by liberals to do this would only make it worse - hell the “Great Society” and “War on Poverty” created or exacerbated the problem... I guess Western Civilization needs to get its balls back. But I don't think its going to happen.
An Austrailian newspaper, back in the early 90’s I beleive, researched race crimes in the US using FBI reports. They found that 50 MILLION white Americans had been murdered by Blacks in a period of a few decades - more that were killed in the Viet Nam war. The article’s title was something like “Amercia quiet civil war.” At the same time, the white on black murder rate was extremely and suprisingly low. Anyone remember reading this?
At the time, the media was totally covering up any black on white murders and since this was published the Left changed FBI’s racial data collection methods so this kind of data would be difficult to find. They made changes so that any time a Black person is murdered by a White person or an Hispanic person, the murder is classifed as “white.” They wanted to make it appear that the black on white murder rate was not as extremly different from the white on black murder rate.
This is a correction to the post above. The number of whites murdered by blacks during the researched period was 50 THOUSAND not million! Sorry. Brain fart.
Good point, and that 50,000 number sounds pretty close to how many whites are murdered by blacks in a 12-15 year span.
The reason the political correctness is tolerated is because of generation after generation of outright lies being taught in U.S. public schools. Blacks murder whites now in 2009, and blacks murdered whites in 1959, and blacks murdered whites in 1909 and on and on and on.
Take a look at the continent of Africa. Are white people going over there raising Cain and murdering and raping? Of course not. In fact, if African countries have any infrastructure at all it’s because of visiting whites.
But, in U.S. public schools, outrights lies are taught about how hard it is to be black in America. It’s utter rubbish.
Actually, the article I read out of a mainstream paper from Australia claimed the FBI data of black on white murder - 50,000 - occured during three decades from the l960’s through when the most recent FBI data available when the article was published - in the early 90’s. That article pointed out that this was more deaths than occured during the VN war, hence the title - America’s silent civil war.
I agree. However, we as a nation can't address the problem until we admit that the problem exists, and the minute you do that -- as we have seen on FR itself -- "you a raciss".
I don't hold out any great hope that race relations in America will improve. The gap between mainstream black culture in America and the cultures of other racial and ethnic groups is just too great, and the powers that lie behind the media/education/government complex won't allow the subject to be discussed rationally. (Even here on FR, the subject can't be discussed rationally!) Given present trends, the future of America looks like Detroit or East Saint Louis writ large: civil collapse. As the cities go under one by one, Euros and Asians will continue to flee to ethnic strongholds on the urban fringes; eventually, however, there will nowhere left to run. A series of race wars will then follow, in which well-meaning people of all races will be forced to decide whether their loyalty lies with color or culture. Given the relative numbers of people in the various ethnic groups, I think we all know who the winners and losers would be in such a horrible situation.
Ultimately, I foresee the breakup or marginalization of most current political entities, and the de jure ethnic balkanization of the U.S. population (probably by outside forces) within ten to fifteen years.
