D+. Good idea. Resubmit in a readable format in 400 words or less.

Technically, that's long enough to be a screed.

My bad. Charles gets paid by the word.

I don't blame him for milking it.

Sarah gets it about energy independence. We have more than the Saudis in shale oil and coal diesel plus nat gas on land. Add offshore and it is even more. Too much is tied up on Federal land.

Get access to it and you reboot and recapitalize America. Energy creates wealth better than anything else. The next best thing is manufacturing. Both add value.

We either all become like Michigan or Calif or we become America again. Americans can live like groveling unemployed serfs or free people.

Turn off the TV and get involved. We have to takeover the GOP at the local level to get rid of stinking RINOs like McCain, Grahmnesty, Crist, Snowe, etc.

American exceptionalism is a frame of mind. No left liberal, not Obama can change that.

Whats your opinion on me helping Mike Castle beat out Beau Biden for that senate seat? I’m torn. I mean Beau as senator might help us.

How? Beau will get DE more pork? I know Castle is a RINO but how bad a RINO?

RINO’s suck but maybe if we target them to get voted out them we can get the rest inline. If we get McCain bounced then other RINOs might get scared. To some extent we got rid of Specter.

The Dems are pure evil. They gave us Obama.

“American exceptionalism”. I think I must have read conservative political writing for 30 years without encountering the phrase more than once, and that once would have been contrasting America to the monarchies of Europe. Now it’s become some sort of catch phrase. I wish someone would expand on how, exactly, we are all supposed to be exceptional. I feel that I must be missing some opportunity to feel superior and I don’t want to miss out.

“That call to retreat was rejected by most of American conservatism “

It sure was, one time being when we told Walter Mondale to go take a hike when Krauthammer was writing speeches for him.

Every U.S. student now is taught they are exceptional. Which is now an oxymoron since their Dear Leader just told the world they actually suck. Try changing that educational tool...self-esteem.

Thanks, I didn’t know that.

What motivated Krauthammer, was it money, or something more sinister?

I know. Obummer is definitely trying to harsh my buzz. It won’t work, because I’m Exceptional, that’s how I roll.

Krauthammer is an example of the old Liberal Internationalist wing of the Democratic Party that had a big interest in an aggressive foreign policy. FDR and Truman with WWII and Korea. Cold War hawks. Wilsonians Making the World Safe for Democracy. Some are worshippers of Churchill and Britain’s empire. He likes political influence and being near the powerful. The Democratic Party has a domestic policy close to his, but their foreign policy has become timid. So Krauthammer and friends just showed up in conservative circles chirping a militant foreign policy and started passing themselves off as conservatives. It works on those who aren’t aware of their pasts.

Conservatives need to go after the source of the GOP, the money.
Control the money and we control their choices.

“American exceptionalism”. I think I must have read conservative political writing for 30 years without encountering the phrase more than once, and that once would have been contrasting America to the monarchies of Europe.

Well then stop reading those magazines and crack a book. Alexis de Tocqueville coined the phrase back in 1835. Its been referred to ever since. Next to Burke, Smith and Locke(read them?) Tocqueville is the most reffed(he’s french guy ya know) outside this country’s founding.

“Now it’s become some sort of catch phrase. I wish someone would expand on how, exactly, we are all supposed to be exceptional”.

Now now, dont use that imperial “we” and lump us all in with a guy who doesnt know where the term “american exceptionalism” came from. I noticed how you said “the monarchies of europe”. Have ya noticed how democracies sprung up across the world after we got one off the ground? As for being a catch phrase, American exceptionalism is rarely used. I wish it was used more often. But we are exceptional. Hard put to find a country that has done as much for the world.
