I think he won Bernallilo County (Albuquerque) by a 60%-40% margin.

"A preview for next month and for 2010?"

Perhaps people are now beginning to associate Democrats with liberals with Marxist radical communist America-haters out to destroy their way of life.

He won the district and we lost the congressional seat to a libtard for the first time in decades. That makes this pubbie victory very interesting for the next house election.

Berry made a lot of points on the “sanctuary city” issue and the fact that Chavez probably wore out his welcome.

If it had gone to a runoff, Chavez may have eked out a victory.

worth noting that Chavez overturned a term limits law to run again.

Ever notice that Liberal/Progressives really hate the idea of term limits?

I live in Arizona but follow New Mexico politics also. This is HUGE. The ‘RATS are going to want to keep this quiet.

Marty Chavez is (was) a corrupt politician who intends to use the wreckage of Albuquerque as a stepping stone to Washington D.C., but fortunately has lots of bones in his closet. We are an illegal alien sanctuary city, we have red light cameras to raise revenue despite studies that say they don't contribute to traffic safety, and Chavez won a third term by rescinding the local term-limit law against public opinion. This go-around may have been due to mandatory identification at the voting booth for the first time, keeping illegals and dead people home.

When did this happen in NM? I remember Jim Villanucci beating that horse to death a few years ago, but to no avail.

Quick! We have to change to voting rules so the Republican can’t win! No primaries? No run-off? Oh no....
