Many of us have previously commented on what a narcissist the Illegal Alien is. Up until now some might have argued he was just putting on a pose or trying to do the destructive things he actually was doing. This fiascoe shows he genuinely is a pathological narciscist. No president in his right mind would pursue an objective like this is a way that put a giant "kick me" sign on his back and his wife's back. Indeed, his whole Olympic pursuit was extraordinary from the lack of simple political intelligence, in the sense of the information gathering political operative usually do, which allowed him to believe he could prevail, to the incredible, hubristic stupidity that sent him and Michelle to Copenhagen on an exposed mission that was almost sure to fail. The Obamas' elevators don't go all the way to the top.

My guess: He was going to get huge kickbacks from those benefitting financially from the Olympics being in Chicago, even if the citizens had to pay for it for years to come.

He thought he would ‘win’ the Olympic bid the same way he won the presidency, just by showing up. He had groveled to all the nations he visited - believing himself to be superior but showing his ‘greatness’ by humbling himself before his lessers. So, what could go wrong? He imagined returning to the US feted and fawned over with his minions simpering “Is there ANYTHING he CAN’T do?!”
