Johnson City is in the northeastern section of Tennessee.
Isn’t this the second person kicked from a mall for selling anti-ZerO merchandise?
Mall Nazis!
Wac3rd, I don’t know if this is the 2nd person. If it is, it’s probably the only ones we know about. If media isn’t carrying it, it must not be happening (sarcasm).
Sell ‘em on-line!
The overhead is lower and the market much larger.
Next quarter, show the ex-landlord your P&L statement.
Wrong- just plain wrong on so many fronts.
Is that same mall administration going thru the record/CDs for upsetting lyrics from the black rappers?
Bet they are not-
Discrimination- hope he has a good lawyer.
Now, I also hope he can set up a website and sell his goods. No rent to pay.
Considering the free speech implications, I’m the ACLU will be at his disposal.
It’s the same with anti-Mohammed items.
Barack Obama is a religious figure to the cult of liberalism.
Private enterprise. First Amendment is irrelevant.
This is a private business transaction between a tenant and landlord. It would seem that the anti-Obama goods violate some aspect of the lease agreement - otherwise the tenant would have recourse in court.
I don’t like the landlords decision to take this action, but we’ve all got to respect his right to do so. Hopefully they would take the same action if someone were selling derogatory “ anti-teabagger” merchandise.
This has more to do with contract law than 1st Amendment. The government is not involved.
I’m aware guys, thanks....it was ACLU sarcasm (provided at least that it is truly private property and not government subsidized or a private-public coop, which could possibly trigger a different forum analysis.)

....there was one tossed out at a Charlotte, NC mall...the whole thing started because a college girl wrote a letter to the Charlotte Observer....she complained about the anti-Obama bumper stickers being sold....and of course the forces of political correctness got right on it, and the mall tossed the vendor.
If this were anti-Bush stuff, you might see the same thing. The Mall has to protect itself if customers threaten to quit coming over it.
Of course, the Mall might not need as many security guards if the Democrats quit coming to the mall.
I”m sure there was no shortage of Bush bashing merchandise in Mall of America at the time.
If I were him, I’d sue, and sue big.
