Oh and for you information - from the heritage foundation web site

The 2005 energy bill contained the first-ever requirement that these fuels be mixed into the nation's gasoline supply. Beginning in 2006, the mandate came on top of massive subsidies and tax breaks already enjoyed by domestic ethanol producers.

Last time I looked the REPUBLICANS were in the MAJORITY in both houses in 2005, and had been since 1994, so save your lame bushbot blame it on Jimmy Carter and the Democrats bull sh!t for someone who's impressed by fiction. There is a reason that the Republicans lost the last couple of national elections big time, and this is part of it.

Oh yea, it's all about ‘05. BS. ADM and others have put billions into ethanol and democrat candidates ever since Carter went along with their imports ban back in ‘80 or ‘81. The ‘05 vote was to keep the existing investment ADM and other big companies have made from being totally worthless after years of being at break even or less. Republicans went along with an democrat initiative, true, but it wasn't the republicans who created the situation where corporations could wave bit layoffs in their faces, it was the democrat thugs that have been funding and getting funded by ethanol backers for DECADES. Whatever republicans do in a single term is always the whole issue, right?

That's just crap folks, the ethanol game has been paying off for democrats ever since Carter if you remember it or not and whether or not republicans went along in ‘05 is moot. Democrat propagandists sure know how to keep everyone looking in the wrong places, I'll give them that.

Keep on thinking what you like, but so far it hasn't really worked out now has it? Like I said, after about half as many years of republican majorities in both houses as there have been democrat majorities in both houses, blaming republicans for creating a problem will carry a little weight. At present, though, the best you can do is say they played along with long time democrat games on this or that issue, not that they created the mess.

have a nice day

What part of:

don't you understand? The REPUBLICAN Kongress passed it and Bush signed it. Two undisputable facts. It wasn't the "Democrats made them do it." They did it all on their own to pay off the big political contributions from ADM who you rightly identified as one of the key beneficiaries of this ongong scam on the taxpayers. Without the LAW forcing us to use this crap in our cars primarily to enrich Archer Daniels Midlands Ethanol would still be an eco-freak's wet dream and a really stupid idea for anyone with any sense.

And frankly I fail to see the "logic" in your position that it was the democrats who forced the republicans to pass it. the Republicans were in power for 11 years at that point and had massively squandered their opportunity to lead the country. "The Democrats mislead, and the Republicans fail to lead."

Have a nice day.

So this is the reason we have to let in millions of illegal aliens to work the chicken processing plants? So we can supply China with chicken?

Gee! I thought it might be because we couldn't feed ourselves without them. /s

What's lame is to spout the Democrat talking points and ignore almost thirty years of democrat kickback schemes and vote buying. But what the hell, you like the current situation so if you can encourage others to think there's no use in resisting the democrats, be that way.

Five minutes in a search engine could find you a lot more like those below, all of which show that whatever the republicans did in ‘05 was little more than trying to catch a gravy train that had already left the station. Sorry for them to do, but they didn't build the train or spend the billions it took to build the ethanol RR.

have a nice day
