So, when 20/20 goes undercover and does the same thing, they can be sued too? Well, ABC was sued by Food Lion when its Prime Time Live went undercover to investigate unsanitary meat packing conditions.

ABC won on appeal.

Remember Linda Tripp:
Maryland Judge Gives Go-Ahead to Tripp Prosecution
A Maryland judge ruled yesterday that the state could proceed with its prosecution of Linda Tripp on charges that she broke the law when she secretly tape-recorded conversations with Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern who was having a relationship with President Clinton...

Time to dust off the RICO Act?
Probably not going to happen with Holder, but we can dream, right?

Tell me where to send my money for their legal fund. I’ll mail them 100 bucks just for the pleasure it gave me to see Acorn revealed to the masses for what they truly are, a commie lawbreaking front for money laundering.
Acorn was operating ILLEGALLY in Maryland so they have no real grounds to sue. THEY should be sued for operating illegally in the first place.

I keep hearing the word “discovery”.
If this is tried in a court that is in demo-crook country, does anyone honestly think that any discovery that is detrimental to ACROOK - er - ACORN will see the light of day?
To: Godzilla
Discovery is a bitch.

As I recall, nobody has even insinuated that anybody at ACORN was "smart". These people are dumber, as they say, as a bag of rocks. This is going to be fun to watch..
...maybe Landmark Legal will get involved where Levin can have some fun sparing with ACORN geniuses.

"Another rule is: there is no fifth amendment in civil law." One of the most misunderstood aspects of civil law. Their is a 5th Amendment privilege in civil court (see McCarthy v. Arndstein). But, unlike criminal court, the jury is allowed to weigh the fact that you did assert your 5th Amendment rights. IOW, the jury can pretty much draw any conclusion they want from you asserting you 5th.

That was because she recorded a phone call. They cannot claim entrapment, because it was not a government sting.
